Here we go again!

Hi everyone! It's good to be back. So here we are again. Not quite a year later. Everybody ready for another month of crazy typing? Are people preparing stuff, or going straight into it blind?

I've just had an idea of what to write, but am trying to decide whether I should plan everything out, or just jump in and see where my fingers take me. Last year, I had a beginning and an end in mind, and it helped knowing where I was going, but the actual journey only came alive through the writing. This year, I have a vague premise, a vague beginning, and that's about it.

Just jumping in early. I wasn't even thinking about Script Frenzy until the other day, when I had the idea, and got all excited. Roll on April!

if anyone else is around, drop by to say hi! I'm lonely...

RE: Here we go again!

Hello :)

Not really "here we go again" for me, since I didn't do it last year (I was on vacation and it would've been inconvinient). Not sure how far I'll get this year, or if I'll get much time at all to write--fittingly, I'm involved in theatre at my school. (I'm in The Crucible, as Mary Warren, which is the coolest thing ever btw, because I've acted only twice before and I had very few lines.) So, rehersals till 5pm. I'm thinking that I'm going to write by hand but not sure how that would work, with verification and all. (I did my 2006 nanowrimo completely by hand, though, and that worked fine...)

Nice to meet you :D

RE: Here we go again!

This is my second Script Frenzy, too! I won my first year, and I'm planning on winning again :D

I'm definitely preparing. In NaNo '07 I tried going in with no idea and I totally failed. So I'm going back to my usual strategy I use for both NaNo and Script Frenzy - I plan out most of it, but leave room for figuring out things as I go. But I NEED to know at least generally where I'm going with a story.

I've got some story ideas floating around my brain, but nothing's solid yet. At least I have the whole month of March to plan!

RE: Here we go again!

I'm ready to go almost. I won last year and I'm ready to do it again.

I've got a bit of any idea but I'm not sure its going to work very well yet. I think I'm going to try and think of a few more things I can do but I'm not going to do a very detailed outline. I've found out I write beter if I have a basic plot and thats it.

So how are you all going to go about writing? Are you going to shoot for 4 pages a day or still going to use 667 words?

I think I'm going to try to keep up with 4 pages but if I find myself to stuck switch over to words.

RE: Here we go again!

Hmm, I hadn't thought of that. It seems kind of unnatural to go by pages, but I guess I probably will go for 4 pages a day. Seems easier, especially since I'm not sure how many words per page I average.

RE: Here we go again!

Hello, all! This is my first Script Frenzy, but I won NaNo '07, which was a blast. I did go into that one with a detailed outline and everything that I wanted to happen I knew about beforehand, which made it a little bit boring to slog through the scenes that I knew just had to get written before I could get to the good stuff. This year I'm trying to do it completely based on dares and without details in mind (which should make it extra fun as I'm doing a mystery/thriller =P ).

RE: Here we go again!

Hi everyone!

This is my 2nd year... last year I didn't quite complete my script, June just was not a good month for writing a script, so I am excited about trying it in April, my birth month, and generally a very creative month for me! I have no idea for my script yet.

Pens ready, writers! OK, computers, I mean :-)

RE: Here we go again!

I'm a virgin to all of these challenges. I have a friend who does NaNo every year and I plan to do the 08 one, but I actually kinda stumbled upon this so I'm pretty pumped. As of right now I'm either heading in blind, or i have a somewhat planned out idea...i'm not sure what will happen...yep. any tips?

RE: Here we go again!

I just downloaded Celtx and discovered an old script that I was unofficially working on for Screnzy last year. I wasn't signed up or anything, and looking at it now, I'm almost glad that I didn't.

(If anyone wants to read the part that made me headdesk - not including where the MMC offers to do his love interest's washing for the rest of his life - PM me.)

I had an idea for this April, but it looks as if it's gone and abandoned me. I guess I'm heading in blind, unless I can find something worthy in the next 28 or so days...

But that's the point, of course.

RE: Here we go again!

This is my first time Screnzying, and I think I'm rather insane, since I've never even attempted a script before. Ah well.

But I have an idea that's slowly percolating, which is all to the good. I'm just hoping my brain doesn't pull a "No, do THIS instead!" like it did for NaNo last year. Uh, several times, actually. Haha. A cast consisting of more than one character would be nice, too... xD

RE: Here we go again!

This is my second Script Frenzy. Last year I tried to get a coherent plot out of my '06 NaNoWriMo novel, The Jennifer Theory, only to find out that my novel was really two novels in one! I only got two good sequences out of it before I gave up in despair and started preparing for NaNo '07.

This time I'm doing the manga idea I've been obsessed with since '92, Spanner, from which all my novels are spinoffs. When I found out that you can script comics this year, I realized I had the chance of a lifetime, so I jumped at it.

Computers Gat and Pack are ready, index cards and scratch paper are ready. I just need to get the character design thing down, and then I'll be good to go!

And then I'll draw the entire first episode when NaNoMangO takes over the old Screnzy month of June.
