Welcome to Script Frenzy 2008!

My dear Scriptheads,

Welcome to Script Frenzy 2008! I'm pleased to be back for another year of scripting madness, and hope that everybody enjoys what I hope will be a wonderful month. Read on for some important information about Script Frenzy in the Boston region.

We're still several weeks away from starting, and I'm working on getting all the details squared away. As your municipal liaison for the Boston region, it's my job to be your point person for this arguably-insane but hopefully fun event. I'll be organizing write-ins, moderating our local forums, and answering your questions.

Write-ins are tentatively scheduled for Saturdays in April, locations to be determined. A new post and calendar entries will detail where and when write-ins will be held, and will be kept up-to-date as new events are scheduled. Write-ins are the events where we get together and work on our projects. Ideas are tossed around, people socialize, the goal board acts as motivator and I run around with a camera documenting it all. A lot of people find them to be wonderful productive times, and it's nice to hang out with a few other people who understand the depth of madness to which you've succumbed.

Moderating the forums is another great time sink in April. When posting to the forums, please keep things civil and all-ages friendly. Remember that we have participants ranging in age from young teens to senior citizens, and post accordingly. Also, don't reveal too much information into your posts--this *is* on the Internet, after all. I highly recommend using your screen names (or just your first name) and not putting e-mail addresses in plain text. If in doubt, please play it safe.

Most importantly, though, I'm here for you. If you have questions for me, please e-mail me at letterslight -AT- gmail.com (replace -AT- with @, of course). I try to answer all e-mails within 24 hours, and often get back to you much sooner.

I'm sorry to say that my erstwhile co-ML, QueenOfTheUniverse, won't be able to participate as strongly as she has in the past few events. Rest assured, she will be at most events (and will lead one while I'm away at an out-of-state wedding), but with her duties helping to run National Novel Editing Month keeping her busy throughout March, added to the stress of a new job and life overall, she wisely decided she needed some time off. With SF being so much smaller than National Novel Writing Month, it's a lot simpler for one person to keep things together. That having been said, I may ask for your help from time to time.

So again, welcome! Good luck and happy scripting!

Cheers,
Travis
