Hello Orange County

Well, I'm officially an LA Co, person... by about 5 miles, but I thought I'd pop in and introduce myself.

I'm Omouse! (Jenny) I'm an ML for LA/Long Beach, so if you're in my neck of the woods, feel free to drop by our Write Outs and other events we might wrangle.

Good Luck and Happy Plotting!

RE: Hello Orange County

Thanks omouse for introducing yourself=)

I'm Brittanie (TSEdiot), Orange County ML, and I'm so excited about this year's Script Frenzy! We're going to have some cool events and probably write-ins twice a week, one on the weekend and one on a week night. I hope I'll get to meet some of you!

I did the event last year as well as National Novel Writing Month and it's a ton of fun - let me know if you have any questions, big fears or just general excitement!

RE: Hello Orange County

Hi all,
I'm moving to Orange County from the Inland Empire and while my allegiances will probably continue to take me to their write-ins and parties, I thought it would be nice to get to know some local Frenzy enthusiasts as well.

For starters, will there be a kick-off party?

RE: Hello Orange County

Absolutely there will be a kick off party! I'm figuring out details now and there will be write-ins twice a week. Everyone is usually torn between weekend and weekday events, so hopefully one of each will suit everyone fine^^ I'll send out an e-mail once I'm power-full (and by that I mean able to send out regional mail again=)

RE: Hello Orange County

Come join us for the Inland Empire kick-off-party at ML Diann's house in Temecula on Friday, March 21st (email kalindria@gmail.com for address and directions.)

We will start at 6PM, there will be food and beverages, but you're welcome to bring something to share also. We had Inner Editor cookies last November - they were great! We will discuss our upcoming projects, last year's ScriptFrenzy (if you participated,) other adventures in writing and various related and unrelated topics. I also have stickers and maybe even some other little giveaways for writers.

ATTENTION: This event is for adults or young writers only please. My home is not equipped to entertain children.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting new friends!

RE: Hello Orange County

Hi all! I too am an Orange County person. Hopefully we'll have as good a participation number as we do during NaNo.

Would it be possible to have additional write-ins or social events in the non-Irvine area again? I know UC Irvine is a popular choice, but for those further north without reliable transportation, it's difficult to get there. Cal State Fullerton is one possibility, if we're looking at universities with a lot of coffee-shop type locations on and around campus.

If not, and the collective group wants to stick with Irvine, that's cool too. I'm just throwing suggestions out here. :)

RE: Hello Orange County

Hey lemming,

One of the reasons Irvine is the location I stick to is just because it's more central to the county - the OC is so spread out that I think it's one of the better places to try and get people together. But fear not! I will definitely be doing a couple of events in the north county area - we really had some good times at the Grand Californian Hotel and that's definitely something to think about!

Good luck in April!
