I need help deciding

I have never written a proper script before. Should I focus on doing a movie for this years Script Frenzy or a GN? Honestly I'd rather end up working on writing comic books one day (I know it's just a wish) but movie format seems more streamlined and thus potentially easier for a newbie who has only written stuff in a semi-script format for fun.

I think that if you're doing what you want to do, it should be easier than doing something that you don't really want to do. If you really want to write a script for a graphic novel, I say go for it!

Your decision, though.

I'd go with what you WANT to do. If you enjoy comics, write a comic. ;) I think if you like it more, you'll have an easier time doing it than if you pick something you aren't overly excited with just for the format.

So what do you want to do more?

Comic books. Course I need someone to draw them. I have no artistic skills. Just writing ability

Same here. (But I'm teaching myself how to draw...) If you can't draw, just write the script. There's lots of writers in the comics industry who have never drawn a thing. I've learned a lot from some of them. I can name two who have books out: Peter David, author of Writing Comics; and Dennis O'Neil, author of The DC Comics Guide to Writing Comics. They've been in the industry for decades (O'Neil since the late 1960s), and yet they've always relied on others (pencillers, inkers, etc.) to do the artwork.

I say go with the GN if that's what you want to do. Forget the formatting, that shouldn't influence your decision. Go for what you think will be the most fun. ^.^

I'd offer my services as an artist, but I'm only mediocre as it is. ^^' I love to draw but that doesn't mean that I'm very good at it. My comic, Sorceror, has only so-so drawings. Focus on the writing. LOL

Thanks folks. Dennis I know Peter David. One of my monthly comics is X-Factor. Brilliant. I'll have to see about tracking his book down.
