Hey Gainesville! I am in Ocala and actually run a writer's group here once a month. I will be posting the next one for April soon. We are going to try to get the space at Crispers on Hwy 200 near Walmart. They have free wireless and just installed a lot of electrical outlets. We are looking at Sunday the 13th right now but I'll have an official later today. Would love to have all come down and hang out for a bit of food and writing!
What we normally do is brief intros then we all contribute a couple of words to a collaborative word list and do Fast Fiction for an hour to get our brains moving. There is also a place to post your Fast Fiction stories online. We aren't a critique group, there are plenty of those out there, so we just discuss things we are working on, places we might be stuck, issue challenges...very casual, very fun. What we are all about is finding your muse and keeping your hands writing!
