Phoenix Area - unite!

Hello, all phoenix dwellers. Whether you live in the east valley, Mesa, Chandler, Tempe, Gilbert, or a different part of the valley, Scottsdale, wherever else there is (Can you tell I'm from the east valley?), come here to find friends close to you, and talk about... I don't know, the ridiculously hot weather and how it contributes to your writing.

GrammarGoddess! How lovely to meet you. And yes, you do have that East Valley accent. I have one as well, because I'm currently dwelling on the border of Gilbert and Chandler.

I do hope to see more of you (and more of us in the East Valley) soon!

Regards,

MaddyMac

RE: Phoenix Area - unite!

I'm from the hinterlands up north of Prescott in Chino Valley. I must be insane to attempt this but my Muse woke me up out of a deep sleep last night and said, in a very loud voice, "Hey, I have this great idea for a parody play."

Don't know if I'll be able to attend any write-ins but I'll keep in touch via these lovely forums.

RE: Phoenix Area - unite!

Well, it looks like there aren't too many phoenix dwellers. I thought there would be more, but the forums aren't nearly as busy as they were for nano at this time... interesting. I've never done script frenzy before, so, I didn't really know what to expect, I guess. It's great to meet you guys!

Interesting about the accent... I didn't really know there was an "east valley" accent. I'll have to look for that. It sounds like we're pretty close, Maddymac, I'm in chandler, on the edge of Gilbert, and a whole bunch of my family lives in Gilbert.

So what are you guys planning on writing about? I still haven't narrowed down a specific plot, I have a ton of ideas floating around in my head still.

Nanowrimo 07: came close, but failed
Screnzy 08: determined to win!

If you don't have hope, what do you have?

RE: Phoenix Area - unite!

Welcome all....one of those ditzy Scottsdale Blondes here. lol. Actually only been in Scottsdale a few months and only had the highlights a few weeks. It happens...don't move here!!!

At any rate, I'm a nano veteran, but a script frenzy virgin. I recently lost my backup hardrive with the past ten years of scripts and peices of novels on it. OUch. But my writing coach brought up a good point. Great time for a fresh start.

I had a few epiphanies while filling out my profile for this site....the main one was that all the shows, comics, movies that I love have some sort of sci-fi or fantasy element to them. Had I ever even considered writing sci-fi/fantasy before. No.

I say, this is as good a time as any to start.

Love to hear from all you other Phoenixites on your journey!

Chandlerite here.

Screnzy '08: Ceres. It's a romantic comedy between two mad scientists in space.
NaNo 2007: The Dragon Herald. (It's really not much like it sounds like.) Failed pretty badly, blah. :-/
NaNo 2006: Jerusalem O'Kira, Blockade Runner. I WON!
