Well, despite Easter, warmer weather, and the hypnotizing call of the native, North-American Frappuccino, Script Frenzy is all set to start in two weeks.

I'm from the Rochester area and I'll be hitting the coffee shops regularly during April to knock out my future block-buster.

So, Minnesota, identify yourselves. If you are also from the Rochester area, I'll set up some write-ins and maybe we'll get to meet.

Pipestone here. I'm on the opposite corner from you and a newbie to the script part of this. As to the frenzy, I did NaNo in 07 and had plenty of chaos during that month! What's your experience? And what's your project?

I'm not sure what I'm writing about this year. Truth is, I haven't even started yet. Ooops. Oh well, I had a busy day at work and so I'm winding down and I'll put some pages in a file before I go to bed. I want to start out with something catastrophic though. Something huge, humongous, gigantic but that's all but ignored by the characters because they're too focused on something mundane. Hmmm, I guess I have something of a plot there.

Oh well, glad to hear you have something in mind. As of yesterday morning, I was lost as to what I was going to do. However, once the idea hit, I got in a good six pages. This is so new and different to me. I'm used to writing novels and chapter books. When I started writing yesterday I felt as if I had been sucked into an alien world. Now I have to keep the momentum even though I haven't the foggiest notion on how!

Hope you can find time today to write. I have three reports for work to write today. Either they will channel my muse or kill it. Hopefully the former.

I've heard about it, but have had so many problems with my computer lately that I haven't even wanted to add one more potential issue. I simply downloaded the format at the bottom of the writer's resource page and that seems to be working very well.

Hello everyone in MN Script Frenzy! I live in southern MN as well but it doesn't seem that there are any other scripters in the area - that have posted anyway - and wanted to give a shout out to you if you live in the Mankato area (surrounding communities as well). This month I'll be writing some at Dunn Bros. in Mankato and if there's anyone interested in having a script-in, just PM me and we can arrange something.

I was at a script-in in the Cities tonight and it was nice to meet up with other writers doing this crazy thing & got some writing done too. As I go to the metro area occasionally, I'll probably attend a few more up there this month. But as I said, if there are some Scripters in southern mn who want to gather together & write - I'd be happy to arrange a write-in.

Hey, Lego here from "outstate" central Minnesota. I would suppose this is my first year doing anything like this, so it's quite a new experience for me. Is there any particular system to getting it done on time? I'm already behind (curse you, school), and I'll hopefully be able to crank out some pages this weekend.

I did NaNo in 07 and was behind most of the time. So far in Screnzy (my virgin run as well) I'm slightly ahead of the game. However, from all of my writing experience, it's a roller coaster ride- some days you're up and on others, you're down. My best advice is to make the most of the flow and quiet times where the world leaves you alone and lets you write. Wait a minute... that never happens. Okay, just write when you get the chance. When the computer isn't handy, jot it down on paper because inevitably you'll forget that Great Idea. Good luck,

Hello legoland, this is my first year doing Script Frenzy too and it seems every writer has a different method for getting the writing done, but having said that, if you write between 3 and 4 pages everyday then you ought to arrive at a script of 100+ pages by April 30th. It's one way to keep track of how far behind (or ahead) you are. As you can see I am behind by quite a few pages.. So, hopefully after a long afternoon of writing, I'd like to have around 20 pages written (I have 5 currently). Don't get discouraged if you don't finish what you plan to, but try to develop some good writing habits along the way. You might surprise yourself and actually finish a full-length script! And I believe, any writing is better than none. Especially with new ventures.

No more talking about writing, I need to write.. I'm already behind! But I did nano 07 this November (my 1st for that as well) and I had to really be disciplined to write as often as I could, but I did manage to finish and win.

And as I think Lex noted, write down your ideas as they come (have something to scribble notes w/ you) to keep the idea of your script flowing. All the best to you legoland!

Hi there Lex, I haven't written any script stuff in the last couple days, so this weekend I'll have to crunch and get some pages coming. Looks like you're coming along nicely, way to go!
