RE: Peterborough and Area

Hey Jerm,

I'm giving it a go again this year. Makes for a nice break from novel writing (or, in the case of this month, editing).

cheers

RE: Peterborough and Area

Hurrah! I'm actually killing two bird with one stone, this time. I gotta write a script anyways, I may as well make it count, right?

So hows fishcat been?

RE: Peterborough and Area

Well, not counting the mundane parts of life (which are being a bit of a pain at the moment), I'm almost finished my second (non-NaNo) novel, and doing the initial red-pencil pass on the first one (the story I started for NaNo '06; hard to believe I've been working on it that long!). I also got a new laptop for my birthday, which is making the whole writing process a lot easier.

How 'bout you? What's the new script for (if not just for fun)?

RE: Peterborough and Area

Good to hear things are progressing well with the writing. And a new laptop? Nice. Mine's still hanging in there after I figure one to one and a quarter million words.

My script is for an audio drama project that has been in a state of existence/nonexistence since before college. Maybe... just maybe it will see the light of day this time.

How about yours?

RE: Peterborough and Area

I'm going to continue the story I started with last year's screenplay. It's a kind of sci-fi adventure comedy along the tongue-in-cheek lines of Sean of the Dead (and yes, there are zombies! and aliens...).

RE: Peterborough and Area

You can never, ever go wrong with zombies. Seriously. Any book can be improved with the inclusion of zombies. Hell, even high school text books can be improved with zombies.

'If zombie A takes fifteen minutes to bust in the front door, zombie B takes 10 minutes to break through the back door and zombie C is already devouring your brains, how long do you have to live?'

RE: Peterborough and Area

Hmmm... I guess that would depend on how long it takes zombie C to finish devouring your brains. What is it with zombies and brains, anyhow?

i am not from peterborough, i'm from napanee. but there ARE NO WRITERS IN NAPANEE, which is why i am doing this. i NEED contact with other writers dammit. everyone else looks at me like i'm nuts. i probably am, but that is besides the point.

RE: Peterborough and Area

Hi Reckless,

Welcome to the rough geographical area. So I guess it's just the three of us, then.

RE: Peterborough and Area

Hi Reckless!

Hmm, Napanee... that puts you at about 2 hrs away, does it not? A bit far to drop by for a write-in at a local cafe... *but*, is there not a Kingston-area thread as well? They might have some events closer to where you are.

I guess there aren't as many Kawarthas script-writers as there are novelists; there were a whole bunch of us for NaNoWriMo in November.
