Will you draw yours?

So, once your script is finished, will you try to draw the comic? Or are you just concentrating on the script?

What are your plans for the future of your GN?

RE: Will you draw yours?

I plan to! I've always had sort of a dream of being a published comic author, so if I manage to actually go through with the whole thing I might very well try to draw it all out and submit places. (Plus it'll give me an excuse to actually learn how to draw action poses decently.)

We need a "post your art!" topic.

RE: Will you draw yours?

Yes, that's the whole point of it for me :) This is a project I've always wanted to see completed in a visual form.
I'll also be going to art school next year, and I'll need more work for my portfolio. My script will serve as an example of my concept development, along with the actual graphic novel, part of my finished work.
Ironically, I first became interested in drawing because I wanted to draw the characters and scenes I couldn't find words to describe. And now I think writing is easier than drawing... so I'm sort of returning to my roots with this.

RE: Will you draw yours?

I'm definitely going to be drawing my SF 08 project. I'm hoping this one will be shorter, so I can actually start drawing it sooner (I'm still trying to finish the script for Sand & Stone!).

I'm not really the best judge of my own art, but I don't think it's publishing-quality... But I'm definitely still going to try my luck with a few publishers, just in case someone disagrees. One of my dreams is to be a real, published artist. And if there aren't any publishers interested in this project, well, I'll probably just put it up online.

RE: Will you draw yours?

Well, the nice part about comics is that self-publishing and putting your work online is a little more respectable than, say, novels. It's practically a tradition!

RE: Will you draw yours?

Yes, I am definitely going to draw it! In fact, I sketched some rough drawings of frames today for reference when I actually start to write it. ^.^ The problem with me is that I get overexcited and I'm a "seat of the pants" type of person, so it is difficult for me to find out about something two weeks before it starts and then stop myself from writing any of it before it actually does start. ^^'

But yes, DEFINITELY going to draw it!! ^.^

RE: Will you draw yours?

Draw? No.

Find an artist? maybe.

My drawing skills are worse than a group of blind hedghogs in a paper bag. They're embarassing. No matter how much advise folk offer, I fail to draw anything that's even remotely similar to what it should be. It's quite fun...

RE: Will you draw yours?

Damn right I'm drawing! Once I found out Screnzy now accepts comics scripts, I took the old project that's obsessed me for over 15 years and decided I have to write it once and for all. And to get me to draw it, I'm entering NaNoMangO in both June and November. (In November, writing my already half-planned NaNoWriMo novel will be the easy part...)

RE: Will you draw yours?

I don't plan on drawing my comic. I'm much to harsh a judge of my own drawing skills to try that. Instead, I'm going to use Daz Studio (Poser's free younger cousin) to render the frames, and then put them together using either just a basic graphic software package or else one of the various programs out there designed to make comics.

Of course, I have to get said comic written first. ;)

RE: Will you draw yours?

That's the plan. I'm co-writing the script with my brother, and then once we're finished, this thing is going to be my project between now and next years SD comic con, at which I hope to lob it at anyone I can with the force of a titan.
