Birmingham Scripters

Hi All,

I haven't yet seen anyone else doing Script Frenzy in Birmingham. Is there anyone else?

I've been doing Nanowrimo for the last five years, but this year I want to work on my romantic comedy. At the moment I'm reading Syd Field's "Screenplay" and worrying about how to write a comedy when I haven't got anything funny to say.

John.

Y'alright, mate?

If you attended the Birmingham write-ins last November, chances are we met. Your username looks familiar.

I only just discovered Script Frenzy, and it sounds like a lot less of an arseache than Nano. I've got a fair bit to be getting on with, but I may give it a shot.

P.S. Sod all those "How to" books. Trust me; go with your instincts.

Hi! Yes, I think we did meet. I was one of the two MLs for Birmingham last November. Nice to see that at least one other Birmingham nanoist has crossed over to Scriptfrenzy.

Smaller word counts, yes. But I am still anticipating a lot of late nights and furniture smashed against the wall in frustration.

No, I'm definitely going for maximum planning this year. I'm hoping to write a textbook 3-act Hollywood screenplay. Not that all films have to be like that, but that's what I'm aiming for!

Hi

I'm from Worcester which isn't too near Brum but a lot nearer Brum than anywhere else on the board.

Good luck

I shall be up late tonight thinking of a plot as the two I did have look a bit crappy in the cold light of day.

RE: Birmingham Scripters

I'm in this year. I vaguely attempted last year and managed < 200 words before I got utterly fed up with my story idea.

RE: Birmingham Scripters

I'm in Brum too - and this year I'm going to do some writing rather than just thinking about it...

RE: Birmingham Scripters

I'm in, but a lot more worried than last year as I only recently found out it had moved to April. I'd rather have done it in June as I'd have more time to prepare.

Oh well... I'll just have to wing it this year I think.

Any write-ins this month?

Leamington, so also nearer Brum than anywhere else.

Did SF last year too, even went to the pre-SF meetup (so might conceivably have met one or two of you ...)

I think therefore I am pretentious.

RE: Birmingham Scripters

Hello, decided today that I should really give this a go, having ummed and ahhed about it since someone first mentioned it to me back in November. Anyway, I have only the faintest idea what I am doing and I have a busy month planned already, but what the hell, a challenge is a good thing right?

I think I met a few of you at the NaNo write ins too. Is anyone up for doing a write in this month too? I found them really helpful for NaNo and I'm sure I will need all the help I can get for SF.

2007 - untitled - Won
