Help with Plotting! Comic Book Length?

Has anyone any idea how to do any plotting for a comic book? By 100 pages, do they mean 100 pages of script (what we write) or 100 pages of art in the finished comic book?

RE: Help with Plotting! Comic Book Length?

I think the idea is 100 pages of the script. ^.^ No idea about the plotting though. I tried to do an outline for mine and it didn't really work out. By that I mean I came up with heaps of ideas and now I'm just dying to write them down. LOL

RE: Help with Plotting! Comic Book Length?

The 100 pages refers to just the straight script. The drawing part isn't involved in this challenge - although there are NaNoMangO and 24 Hour Comic Day that happen later in the year.

As for how much 100 pages of script would equal in comic pages... That depends on your writing style and drawing style.

I'm not concerning myself with how long the finished book will be - I'm just going to get the script out, then however long it is will be fine.

RE: Help with Plotting! Comic Book Length?

Thanks, shame it isn't 100 pages of finished comic, i could do a splash page for each page, then only 100 frames/panels! lol, that still sounds rather a lot! If we do 100 pages in 30 days, I think that's roughly 3.3 pages a day! (Sounds much better that way!).

Luminous - Do you have links to NaNoMangO and 24 Hour Comic Day? I'd love to check them out!

MissUnknown - at least you have heaploads of ideas! So long as you keep hold of them, you shouldn't run out of things to write about!

Good Luck!

RE: Help with Plotting! Comic Book Length?

Definitely the script is in question for SF!, which does seem to be a common misconception as soon as someone starts thinking along the lines of doing a sequential art script. Not to mention things getting confusing when someone talks about formatting Pages versus Pages :)

24 hour comic day hasn't been set yet, http://blog.newsok.com/nerdage/2008/03/20/24-hour-comic-book-day-2008-pl...

but it's usually in October from what I remember.

NaNoMangO.

I've never done NaNoMangO myself, though, but I do know it's held in June and November.

I'm doing NaNoMangO too. That's the other reason why I'm doing Spanner for Script Frenzy.
