Does this count as a graphic novel script?

I was thinking about writing this in Comic Life for mac.

I would use the panel templates and instead of adding images I would use text boxes to show what would be in each cell and put in speech bubbles for the dialogue.

Would this half layout half script count for script frenzy?

Thanks for the help

Looks good to me. I think the rules say it's fine as long as you think it's ok as a script?

RE: Does this count as a graphic novel script?

Script Frenzy is about writing the script. The fact that the script is going to be used for a Graphic Novel and not a screen or stage play is immaterial, it's still a script. 100 pages of graphic novel layout is not the same as 100 pages of written script.

While I think your idea is inspired as far as mapping out your story, I doubt that it would count as an actual "script" and verification would be very difficult. If you don't care about verification, then it won't matter. In fact, none of the rules actually matter unless you choose to abide by them. But this is not, even in the very flexible and non-codified world of comic script writing, a script.

You could do 100 pages in no time with this format. Way to easy, yo.

RE: Does this count as a graphic novel script?

Me, I have to do both. I can't write a script without the storyboard in mind. This is especially true of my comics. So while I'm at my computer pounding out my script, I've got some scratch paper next to me ready for my layouts. That's how I know what goes on what page.

It seems like that would actually be harder than just writing a script. Why don't you just write it first and then lay it out? Get CeltX or something. It just seems like you are going around your elbow to get to your ass. What happens when you want to edit or make a global change?
