Any Ideas?

I've decided to give a shot at writing a musical this year, and I think I might have an idea. My basic idea is a comedy about an actor's life suddenly turning into a musical (people bursting into song at random and everything you'd see in a musical play), but other than that, I'm dry. I have no characters, no overarching plotline, no nothing. Can anyone lend me some advice?

RE: Any Ideas?

How about the actor is a straight theatre snob (Shakespeare, Ibsen etc) who looks down on all musicals?

RE: Any Ideas?

Hey, if you need to bounce ideas off of someone, you can drop me a line anytime (:

I think what will save you since you don't have many ideas to go on are the characters. Focus on developing them and making them all unique and loveable, and they'll lead your musical to great places(and give them cool things to sing about!)
