100 Pages

At 3:50 a.m. on April 4th, I broke 100 pages.

I'm still scribbling for the rest of the month because there's quite a bit to add, but as far as Screnzy....

100 PAGES! WOO HOO!!

Keep scribbling, everyone! There's tons of time, and lots of stories to be told!

RE: 100 Pages

Congratulations! That's crazy! I can't believe you hit 100 already! Although if you've been writing until 4am in the morning then I'm not so shocked... go get some sleep you loon! You're making me feel like I'm slacking.

Are we going to need a 150page shout out thread before the end of the month? O.o

RE: 100 Pages

Congrats!!

(Don't have it in me to be crazy this month, nor is scriptwriting something I am particularly familiar with, let alone good at, but I applaud all you who are nuts!)

RE: 100 Pages

I am trying to learn something about myself and how I write.
Learning pacing is part of it. A steady pace, I find works best for me and is most satisfying. Although, I confess for now I am ahead of schedule but I don't want to rush it.

CONGRATULATIONS! But I have to ask. What do you do for the rest of the month?

RE: 100 Pages

I'm going to DisneyWorld!

Not really.

What I am going to do is finish this play, continue to support my fellow Screnziers, and work to finish writing my book by June 30th.

Happy scribbling!

100 pages in 4 days?

I have one question...

Why?

Doesn't that sort of.. ruin the rest of the month?

RE: 100 Pages

i kind of thought that too. i've done plenty of 30-pages-a-day weeks, so i was all set to relax and sort of walk through Screnzy, no pressure. but then i realized that there's no way I could stand to write the barest of bare minimum, so i'd probably be done early anyway. so now i'm up for seeing just how many pages i CAN do in a month. not off to the best start to be honest, but i expected a few days of nothing, that's pretty ordinary. so congratulations to you, and hope you keep counting pages throughout the month, if only just to track your own progress!

RE: 100 Pages

To be honest, I didn't intend to write this much. But I happen to be on spring break this week, and had some really great writing days. The script isn't done, and I intend to keep writing throughout the month, as well as working on my book. I don't think it defeats the purpose of Screnzy at all. I'm proving to myself I can write a script in one month, which I'm doing.

The important thing is that I'm writing.

Just hit 100 myself. Feels pretty amazing, even though the story isn't finished yet.

RE: 100 Pages

Well I have no problem actually writing (I did Screnzy last year and won), but I was starting a new job, moving house two hundred miles and that was distracting me. Plus I wasn't as well planned as I had been before -- although I knew how the overall plot should go and had mapped it out.

About two weeks ago I'd only made it to 30 pages. The move was over, I was in the new job and working, so I dug in and began kicking out the pages.

Finally I was at 70 pages by last Wednesday, and my daily average was back to a manageable level. My writing rate seemed to be about 5-6 pages per hour, so I did another 10 on Thursday evening and then wrote for 3 hours on a train on Friday and finished 100 pages. Yay.

But my PDF converter says it's 99 pages so I'll have to just add a little bit somewhere to expand it a smidge more. And I'm done.

And I feel good.

RE: 100 Pages

Ah! I hit THE END and am 15 pages short!!!!!! Argh!!!!!

Any tips/tricks to help me fluff this out to 100? I keep trying to add a bit more dialogue here and there, but it's starting to drag down the pacing.
