Slumps

I wasn't sure what to call this thread. So anyway, my original plan of finishing my Script before Saturday went out the window because I got sick on Thursday morning :(. Okay, yes, I'm crazy, but I did have a good reason for wanting to finish so early. I have so much stuff going on this month (or at least it feels like it) that I wanted to get the script over and done with. So I haven't written for 3 days, 4 on Sunday, but I am starting to feel better now and on Monday I'm getting back on that horse and write again.

Anybody else going through a slump? Writer's block? Work or family interference? Vent away! :D (then go back to working on that script!)

RE: Slumps

I was wondering why I was only ten pages behind you. I was even going to post something about it. But now I don't have to :P It took me two months to start getting over my cold, thankfully just in time for April. I hope you feel better soon, though.

RE: Slumps

ahahaha, I have only done 1 page and a half.

D: I have that much writer's block.

I should have picked a story that I was more in love with... the thing is, I DO like the story I have, and the characters, and everything... I just don't like where I have to begin it.

So, in short, you're not the only one going through severe writer's block. :) You are definitely doing much better than myself right now.

RE: Slumps

I think I'm out of the slump. I managed to pass the halfway point this morning. I'm still sick though, going to head off for a nap soon.

Candel, just have your characters talk about anything, no matter how trivial and then eventually they'll start talking about something with substance.

RE: Slumps

I agree. Just write. When I did the NaNoWriMo the best thing I heard was November was writing month, December was editing month. Write write write. See what happens. You can edit later when you have more perspective.

Also, something cool might happen if you just let your characters go for it.

RE: Slumps

So yes, the bad news is I originally had to work tomorrow in the evening, but now I get to work a bit in the morning and the evening as well! So I won't have time to write my script tomorrow. The good news is I am at 80 pages, so I have 20 days for 20 more pages. So it's not the end of the world.

RE: Slumps

Oh my goodness, despite my split shift today, I managed to complete 11 more pages! I surprise even myself :).
