I have a scene in my story where the main character is being chased by cops-

He is attempting to rescue his girlfreind and brother, who he knows are being held captive by the story's villian, but the cops do not believe him and are seeking to arrest him instead...in his effort to save his loved ones, he first has to outrun the cops...

My character is driving his uncle's car, which is a classic 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport, which has some added horsepower to it...the cops are in basic standard police cars

The character, in order to escape, drives onto a dirt forest road, which he knows very well,...there is a sort of dirt hill that goes up, and then an empty area that goes over a creek (a bridge was supposed to be built there but never was)

the character floors it, and jumps the creek, slamming down on the other side, but his car keeps driving, whereas the cops slam on the brakes.

Is this particular muscle car (Chevelle) TOO HEAVY to do something like this? I know that the Dukes of Hazzard had that Dodge Charger doing some pretty incredible jumps, but I am going for at least SOME realism (even though this is a horror script)...I picked this car for it's classic look, but I would be willing to substitute some other car if it would be more likely to pull off something like that
