Hi, so we started this over one the nano forums but it's going down on Sunday so I'll post it here so we can continue with the game.

The game is mafia. I choose some Mafia to kill people, a doctor to save townspeople and a detective to catch the mafia and then I let everyone loose to see who dies :) Sounds fun, right? It is.

nuwanda started this in the other thread and after one fun round I mentioned another version and was asked to host it here, so here I am. I won't let you actually kill anyone; I'll just have fun retelling how you killed someone in Mafia City or how someone killed you.

What happens is I take a bunch of volunteers about every Monday or Friday or whatever and once I have a good sized group I assign people a role:
-Towns person You are normal everyday people. As a citizen of this town you get to meet in a council in emergencies, like after a killing, and decide who you want to blame and hang for murder in your streets. You vote for whoever you think is the mafia.
-Mafia If you are the Mafia I will tell you who your cohorts are and after the 2 or 3 of you negotiate to decide who you want to "kill", please pm me your choice and I will plan a demise for them. Unless the doctor intervenes, that person will die. You get to vote in council too.
-Doctor you choose someone you want to save, like yourself, and if you choose the same person the Mafia does, the person lives. You get a council vote too.
-Police You PM me with your guess of who the Mafia is and if you're right that boss goes straight jail. You also get a council vote.

I cannot play because I am the narrator for this first game and I know who everyone is, but other people can take over narrating future games too. My job is to send everyone back home at night and let everyone do their jobs, like killing people, and once morning comes and the doctors, mafias and policeman have done their jobs of PMing me, I will regale you with the tale of how someone died and open the council session. The council will then nominate who they think is the murderer, the nominees will have a chance to plead their case, then the votes will be tallied and someone will hang. Everything clear? You can always PM me with questions.
