Cast of characters

I'm a big fan of small casts. I think it makes the experience more intimate, especially on stage (I'm writing a play), and can give you more options for your stage.

In addition, I'm trying not to give too much description of the characters. I like scripts that allow freedom for the director to play a little. So my descriptions are usually something like "woman, mid-20s" or "man, middle-aged, professor."

What about you? Big or small cast? Specific vision of characters or freedom for the director?

I'm writing in the realm of realism, so I've decided to set my play in Orlando. The setting doesn't play a huge role in the story, but that's what I'm doing nonetheless.

What is your setting? How big of a role does it play in your story?

So my idea for SF this year is a collection of vignettes about waiting. At a doctor's office, for pregnancy test results, for a phone call, to be asked on a date, etc. I'm working on the outline now.

We have no regional ML, but I am able & willing to schedule weekly centralized meetups in Orlando for ScriptFrenzy.

Monday nights 7-9pm near Bumby & Colonial - does that work for you?

The agenda is open, but I think sharing some pages & discussing tips & challenges related to the Frenzy would be great. Anything that inspires us all to keep writing writing writing!

Wow, that's shocking to me. I would have thought for sure that we'd have one. I would volunteer to do it, but it appears that it's too late to do so.

Anyway, we will have to try to get meet-ups arranged somehow.
