What genre is this?

Not sure what genre your piece fits in? Here's the place to ask! Post, and maybe someone will have an answer!

Tragicomedy

Lighthearted for the most part, but dealing with some pretty serious things. Does anyone else write in this genre?

Autobiographical stories?

Anyone else writing something based on their own life?

They say "write what you know", and there's nothing I know better than my own life! I've always looked at my life through a narrative lens, anyway, so it feels very natural to make it into a story.

I'm merging several different events in my own life, and many characters are composites of various real people. However, I think the ending will actually be quite different from any real-life events.

A porn-script

So I think I'll do a script for a pornographic movie, set in space.
Am I alone or are there others writing a script for a porn-movie?

I think I'm an "other" this year. Are you?

Romance? Horror? Could be Gothic? Maybe Historical? Family Drama? War Time Tales? I have no idea what it is! LOL! Who else is in the same boat this year?

I seem to be doing a romance horror this year. I had no plot, no idea what I was going to write. This morning I just randomly start writing off the top of my head, and turns out I'm writing the following:

Psychological mind trips through dialogue?

I'm planning to write a script that attempts to slowly take physical reality away from the being to embark on a surreal trip through the mind. Anyone else going metaphysical?

Based on a true story?

This year I'm teaming up with a friend to write a screenplay about the true story of a friend who sees the number 33 incessantly. Not sure if it will be "based on" or "inspired by" or how we will draw a plot arc out of his life without changing things too much. Anyone else out there writing scripts based on real lives? Advice on shaping truth into plot? What about the responsibilities of nonfiction, especially knowing that your protagonist will want to read it/watch it when you're done?
