Logline Daniel is deemed a genius at the tender age of 22, but when it seems that his genius is leaving him, he goes to any length to bring it back. Even if it means loosing everything.

An Excerpt from The Descent of Orpheus

JACOB
I told you it was easy. I told you it would happen if you weren't careful. I said you have to be careful. I made you promise. Did that mean nothing to you? You said it was to make you concentrate. You were getting high weren't you? You were trying to find something to write.

Couldn't you have just waited? Why did you have to ask me? You knew I wouldn't refuse. You know I care about your writing as much as you. Its a terrible thing to say, but we're not close. I just wanted to read what you had written and have it be good.

Bryan stands in the door way and looks at Jacob.

BRYAN
Did you read his recent stuff?

JACOB
No.

BRYAN
Its crap. A cheap and broken record player.

JACOB
Oh no.

BRYAN
What were you thinking?

JACOB
I was thinking that I would help out a friend and he would understand the consequences of his actions.

BRYAN
Daniel's twenty five. He doesn't have any sort of sense of consequences.

JACOB
And you at twenty eight know so much more?

BRYAN
No. Clearly.

JACOB
They're taking my license away.

BRYAN
Good. They should.

JACOB
Fuck. I've really screwed this up, haven't I?

BRYAN
Yes.

JACOB
He'll wake up.

BRYAN
He has to.
