ANDROS

I have recently discovered the location of Skewer, a legendary blade said to have been used to slay an Angel. There is no doubt in my mind that having this blade in the hands of an ally would be in our best interests.

AIFE

And you consider me an ally?

ANDROS

To an extent, yes. You are no more eager to see the world engulfed in war than I am.

Panel Two: A Close Up of Aife

AIFE

I am a Warrior, I fight, I enjoy battle. If there is no fighting I have no employment. What makes you think I am opposed to this war?

Panel Three: Close up of a very shocked looking Andros.

ANDROS

What are you saying? Surely you don't want humankind to be wiped out?

Panel Four: Aife leaning forward, chin resting on her hands, elbows on the table.

AIFE

I don't believe for a minute that humanity will be wiped out. we're too tenacious to let that happen. My understanding is that the war will rage, and yes, there will be much suffering and death. But, at the end of it, there will emerge a new breed of man with a new breed of wisdom.

Panel Four: Bronwynne looking at her sister, tears in her eyes.

BRONWYNNE

I wish I could believe that, but from studying the history of Romus I have learned better. There have been many wars and atrocities on that world, and humankind seems little the wiser for it.

Panel Five: Tristan is attempting to comfort Bronwynne

TRISTAN

I wish what you said wasn't true. Aife, your sister's right, all violence leads to is more violence. I don't know the history of your world but on my world there are a great many stories of groups of people fighting on for centuries simply because both sides have been taught that the other is wrong.

Panel Six: Close Up of Andros

ANDROS

Aife, think about the hardened warriors you know. Yes some of them have grown in wisdom while others have grown in cruelty. Why would a war on a larger scale yield results different in anything but scale?
