An Excerpt from Unnammed Marching Band Movie/Theme Music
Narrator As long as he could remember, which wasn't very long, Ethan was different. He wasn't a genius and he couldn't turn invisible - but he could fly. Shot changes to inside the house, YOUNG ETHAN is being scolded by his PARENTS. He has just flown around the neighborhood while trying to walk the dog. YOUNG ETHaN (looking down, ashamed but not sorry he did it) I... I... I'm sorry? Mom (holding a self help book, ad frequently consulting it) We know you need a creative outlet. I mean - It even says it in 10 Tips for Raising a Super-Duper Child. Dad Besides- not every little boy who flies can become a super hero- so we want to make sure you look good to colleges- so here, we have a present for you. DAD steps back to reveal a lumpy shaped package, wrapped with utterly tasteless paper and a tiny bow. YOUNG ETHAN hurries over and tears off the paper in an unorganized fashion. MOM comes over and cleans up behind him, making the paper fly in to a nearby trashcan - YOUNG ETHAN doesn't notice. YOUNG ETHAN reveals a strange case, which he opens cautiously. It is a trombone. YOUNG ETHAN A trombone? MOM Yes honey - all the cool band geeks are playing it. Try it! |
