A dark haired guy, NOLAN, leans on the front desk, head in hands, bored to death, a wall of shoes behind him. His eyes lifts and his face immediately brightens as soon as he sees Rosie and Sky walking in his direction. He grabs two size seven shoes from under the counter and slides them across to the front.
NOLAN
Hey, what's up? Hopefully you guys can liven the place up a little.
Nolan eyes are mainly on Sky. Rosie notices and fixes her hair.
ROSIE
I thought I saw Garret and Tyler here earlier.
Rosie's attention wanders once again to the bowling alley's patrons. Sky eyes her with slight amazement.
NOLAN
(nodding to the far corner of the bowling alley)
They're a little preoccupied.
Rosie and Sky look to where Nolan is indicating. The two bulky jocks, the taller a literally bleached blonde and the shorter darker, stand in close quarters with two petite girls in mini skirts, obviously not at Electric Lanes for the bowling.
Rosie's eyes darken and she strides in the jock's direction.
ROSIE
(muttered)
Sluts.
Nolan and Sky both watch as she walks away. Nolan shrugs.
NOLAN
Anyway, I know you guys always hang out over here all night. I don't really see a point of coming here if you don't bowl, but I guess I can't really complain since you guys are the only real human contact that I get.
An overweight costumer comes up with a pair of shoes in hand.
BOWLING CUSTOMER
Can I exchange this for a size eight and a half? My feet swell in the heat.
Sky scoots a few inches away form the customer. Nolan nearly throws a pair of shoes at the customer and manages a fake smile until the man is gone.
NOLAN
This job truly sucks.
SKYLAR
(teasing)
What are you talking about? Everyone loves bowling. And I know that I especially love seeing you work here. It really makes me feel beter about sittinging in the visitor's center all day.
NOLAN
Speaking of your job, how many people did you talk to today?
SKYLAR
Sixteen.
NOLAN
Damn, you won again. You have to be psychic or something.
SKYLAR
Hey, I know my Mondays. Tourists are always ready to leave and looking for the way to the nearest exit.
Rosie reappears in a suspiciously better mood.
ROSIE
Lost the bet again Nolan? Why does that not surprise me. You should know by now that Sky is amazing at these kind of things.
NOLAN
Ive gotten lucky a few times.
Rosie raises an eyebrow.
NOLAN
(nudging the pair of bowling shoes in front of the girls)
This game is one me. Maybe you guys should at least play once to make it worth my money. Then come back to talk to me.
Skylar pretends to look hurt.
SKYLAR
Do you not want us talking to you anymore?
NOLAN
Not yet. But I have a feeling that my supervisor is getting a little suspicious that every time you're over here I tell him that you're having shoe problems.
SKYLAR
Hmmm... We'll have to spend the next hour thinking of a better excuse.
