ENRIQUE TOLBI is instructing the training. He nods as John walks in.
ENRIQUE
Lieutenant.
JOHN
Enrique.
ENRIQUE
Heard you been running into burning buildings?
JOHN
Just trying to show you up.
ENRIQUE
Get yourself killed next time, will ya? I want your position.
JOHN
Dream on, underling.
ENRIQUE
Oh, don't worry. I am. I have dozens of schemes, all in varying stages of fruition. I'm a patient man.
JOHN
So, I'll keep my eye out, then?
ENRIQUE
Definitely.
JOHN
I'll do that, then.
ENRIQUE
I'm glad you didn't burn to death.
JOHN
Thank you.
ENRIQUE
I mean, if I'm not responsible for your death, then how will I get that wonderful sense of satisfaction?
JOHN
Right. I am your commanding officer, you realise?
ENRIQUE
Wasn't that the point of this discussion?
JOHN
Yeah, well, normally, second-in-commands do this sort of thing behind one's back.
ENRIQUE
Really? Damn, why did no one tell me that? I'll keep it in mind next time, lieutenant.
JOHN
Good. You're learning.
