EXT. DRIVEWAY - DAY

TJ (V.O.)

I live in a world where brotherly hate is the norm.

(a beat)

And my brother gives me the perfect excuse for it.

TJ RYAN (15) skateboards. From out of a two-story window TYLER (13) readies his slingshot and shoots at her wheels. A rock HITS one of her wheels violently, sending TJ flying into a bush.

TJ

TYLER!

INT. JAMISON HALL/LIVING ROOM - AFTERNOON

JASMINE (V.O.)

Of the four types of love that the Greeks defined, on a good day I could manage one for my brother, the rest of the time I had none.

JASMINE JAMISON (14) opens the front door and extends her arm to escort her 'girlie-girl' friends (SANDRA & JENNA - 14) inside the house.

They peek into the living room and the girls SCREAM. The living room looks like it was torn apart by a pack of wild animals while ERIC (16) dreary-eyed on the couch is half-naked, surrounded by crisp packets and scratching himself.

JASMINE

ERIC!

INT. RYAN KITCHEN - MORNING

TJ (V.O.)

Is brotherly love an impossible feat?

Tyler and TJ fight over the cereal, pulling back and forth until Tyler rips it from her and puts the cereal box over her head.

TJ

TYLER!

INT. HALL/JASMINE'S BEDROOM - NIGHT

JASMINE (V.O.)

Is our love for our family to be earned by them or chosen by us?

Eric shoves a pizza box under Jasmine's door - it doesn't fit. She opens the door and the pizza box squishes as sauce goes all over her outfit.

JASMINE

ERRRRIIIC!

INT. TJ'S BEDROOM - DAY

TJ (V.O.)

Could an experiment provide the answers?

Tyler uses TJ's video camera to crack the shell of a Brazil nut on the floor.

TJ

TYLER! I'm going to pound you!

INT. JAMISON LIVING ROOM - DAY

JASMINE (V.O.)

What part does research play in matters of the heart?

Eric lays on the couch using the zoom on Jasmine's video camera to look inside his nose, tweezers at the ready in his other hand.

JASMINE

Eric, you're disgusting.

The screen reads "MY REPORT ON THE SIBLING EXPERIMENT".

Jasmine sits on a chair next to a desk, reading the screen of a large, junky computer.

JASMINE (V.O.)

If someone told me I was going to take part in an experiment that would change my life...

TJ sits curled up on a bed reading a screen of a slim laptop computer. She shovels potato chips into her mouth.

TJ (V.O.)

I would have pictured something more along the lines of this:

INT. LABORATORY - FANTASY SHOT

TJ runs in a giant hamster wheel.

JASMINE (V.O.)

Or this...

INT. MEDICAL CENTER - FANTASY SHOT

Jasmine takes a pile of medication with the words "Experimental Drug Treatment" on the labels.

SPLIT SCREEN - INT. TJ'S BEDROOM/JASMINE'S BEDROOM - CONTINUOUS

TJ (V.O.)

But hardly something of the magnitude that would help me to discover what love is for myself.

JASMINE (V.O.)

Or that my own research could help me perfect what I always thought to be a 'normal' sibling relationship.

TJ (V.O.)

If only my findings could be able to help out others just as much as it helped me.

JASMINE (V.O.)

If only I found out all this a month ago...
