An Excerpt from May Long
EXT. SUBURBAN ROAD - DAY
David speeds down a residential side street. Trees line both sides, partially shielding the quaint houses from the view of the streets. People walk along sidewalks with dogs and strollers. A kid rides his bike up a ramp and takes a jump, and crashes.
DAVID
(annoyed)
No. You’re not. I know you’re not, okay? But you have to understand that my wife to be...my fiancee...is going to be at MY apartment in roughly...
He lets go of his wheel and looks at his watch. The car begins to drift, but he corrects it with snappy reflexes and guides it back onto the road.
DAVID (CONT’D)
...seven minutes. So while you’re not cut out for the marriage life, I am, all right? And my soon to be partner for life needs to know this!
David speeds past an old couple walking with each other. The elderly man is startled when David drives by, and then spits on the sidewalk and glares at David as his wife keeps walking.
