In 2016 superhero status almost always makes them extremely famous, and quite often, outside the law. For a long time the debate on whether or not superheros should have abilities to work outside the law and have extra rights, has been going on.

In 2015 though a piece of legislation was passed awarding superheros those extra rights. Now a hero could do almost anything, short of murder, rape and betraying their country, without many or any repercussions. Superheros are lauded everywhere. However in smaller areas, towns with not many people, those with superpowers are feared and treated with suspicion.

Hope Ravena has always harbored a secret. She was born with powers of her own. However in Carmel-By-The-Sea, people there are in general distrusting of super beings. Now moving to Los Angeles, she will be thrust right into the middle of a battle between superheros, super villains, and anyone caught in between the two.
