No computer at home? Need a little word-processing love in your Script Frenzy life? Thanks to the kindness of our participants and the good folks at AlphaSmart, we have a solution to your technology woes.

Script Frenzy has a small lending library of AlphaSmart Neos for use by Script Frenzy participants. The Neos are battery-powered and fully portable, but can't get online, and can't run scriptwriting software. For pounding out dialogue and scene sketches, though, they can't be beat.

There is no fee to check out an AlphaSmart Neo or laptop from our library. Script Frenzy will cover the costs of shipping the computer to you, but you will be responsible for paying the costs of shipping the computer back to us (typically about $25) by May 15th. Borrowers will be required to provide a $150 deposit for their unit, and must send us a copy of their driver's license, passport, or other documentation.

Also, because we have so few of units available, anyone checking an AlphaSmart from our library must complete the Script Frenzy challenge. The Neos come pre-installed with flying guilt-monkeys who will plague you for the rest of your life should you check out one of our machines and fail to write 100 pages in April.

In the email, please include your name, Script Frenzy username, and an explanation of why one of our AlphaSmarts would be helpful to your scriptwriting efforts. Every year, the number of applicants far exceeds the number of computers, so please be as detailed as possible in explaining why you need the machine.

All requests must be received by March 16, 2008. Neos will be mailed out on or after March 21.
