RE: A Soundtrack For Your Script

Anything electronica, basically, especially if it's got a beat. Not just in the story, either (maybe the published comic should come with a pack-in soundtrack CD), but while I'm writing (and drawing) it too. Like I always have, ever since '93.

Otherwise, it depends entirely on my whim and what's available.

RE: A Soundtrack For Your Script

Ooh, electronica...are you a Daft Punk/Moby/Chemical Brothers person or more an indie-electronica person, like Crystal Castles/New Young Pony Club/Late of the Pier/CSS? Or random, unheard of electronica?

Definatly The Killers "When you were Young" because there is an ongoing joke about my MC being nothing like Jesus.

Seeing as I'm writing a musical, the soundtrack will be whatever I come up with in April.

RE: A Soundtrack For Your Script

I usually have no idea until I'm writing in the moment. It's so chamelionic, my playlists typically aren't a good representation of my music tastes... For now, I'm feeling a very wide range of pretty quiet stuff. These songs are floating in my mind...

Videotape - Radiohead
Moss Mountain Town - Album Leaf
Adaigio (Samuel Barber) - Kronos Quartet
Young Bride - Midlake
We Have a Map of the Piano - Mum
Earth Died Screaming - Tom Waits
And It Rained All Night - Thom Yorke
The Light - Album Leaf
The Tourist - Radiohead
Sea of Love - Cat Power
This Is Our Sound - Ladytron
Windsurfing Nation - Broken Social Scene
Feel Good Last Reprise - Broken Social Scene

Probably also some Black Heart Procession, Mates of State for happy scenes, and Scout Niblet. Maybe Nick Cave.

RE: A Soundtrack For Your Script

TaelGryphon: Clutch is awesome. Can't get enough of them.

Although personally, I can't write while listening to music with loud lyrics... but I can't write with complete silence. So I usually go for instrumental only, or something with more subdued lyrics. If I'm just popping in to write a little, I'll just fire up SmoothLounge and listen to that, but if it's a longer session, I'll cue up a smattering of blues, laid-back techno/electronica, and some Corinne Bailey Rae for good measure.
