Adopt-A-Plot

Okay, this hasn't popped up yet, and...um...I really need a plot, so I hope it's okay if I start this thread. :(

Anyway, here's a plot for those who need one, since it seems to not be agreeing with me (it's pretty concepty, too):

A human girl tells her story about growing up in a "normal" world, however, as she tells you in the beginning, there are two "intelligent" species as opposed to one. In her world, spiders are also on the same intelligence/communications level as humans, though they aren't treated as equals. The story is partly about her growing up and partly about the world trying to figure itself out as far as racial equality goes, and how far it extends. Sort of like the Civil Rights Movement, except its about spiders and humans as opposed to humans and humans. You could probably switch out lizards for just about anything, and you could probably twist it to be romance if she falls in love with one. Have fun?

...So yeah, post your abandoned plots here, I guess.

RE: Adopt-A-Plot

Here's one that, I admit, I may actually use at some point but don't let that bother you because 1. I'm a horrible procrastinator and 2. I only write to entertain myself and some of my friends. You don't have to worry about me coming after you for 'stealing' my idea. :D

Not that it's that great. Anyway...

A woman with a daughter comes home from her morning run to find that her daughter has been kidnapped. The detective on the case thinks there's more to this kidnapping than meets the eye but no one else believes him because the woman has an...interesting past (of the writer's choosing). He finally tracks down the kidnappers but they grab the girl and take her to another dimension. The detective injures one of the kidnappers and the kidnapper tells him that the girl is going to be used for some vaguely understood ritual sacrifice (also of the writer's choosing) and volunteers to take the detective to find the little girl. Basically follows the adventures of Mr. Normal Detective in Bizzaro-land. Happy ending, sad ending, romance, comedy, uber-dramatic attempt at realistic cop movie: the options are endless.

RE: Adopt-A-Plot

I got a plot i've been sitting on for a few years. I don't think I will ever use it so someone have at it.

A young man moves from Los Angeles CA to Manhattan NY, on his flight he meets a beautiful woman whom he falls in love with. After a few drinks one night the man asks the woman back to his apartment, where they end up making love for the first time. The next morning the woman wakes up and the man is covered in blood no longer living. While police investigate her as a prime suspect, she starts investigating his past finding the father of her future child was a business mastermind which has left her everything. She must fight to protect her innocence but at the same time stay alive since she might be next.

RE: Adopt-A-Plot

A woman receives a letter in the mail. But on this letter is a secret seal that only she and her dead husband know about. She finds a clue in the mail, which leads to another, which leads to another. Soon she's hunting around the city, meeting these pretty strange people who seem to know pieces of her past. Then memories she didn't know existed come flooding back. She meets a pretty strange man who she believes is stalking her (because he follows her everywhere), but she starts falling in love with him. She's afraid she's going crazy. The last clue tells her to talk to the man who's been following her all along. She's freaked. She calls the police. The police chief pushes it off. She talks to the man, and the man tells her to see a hypnotist. She goes to the hypnotist and all these unknown memories come back. She realizes the person who sent the letter was her. She sent the letter to herself. The man is her dead husband. And all these people she's been meeting - they were her old friends before she was brainwashed/mind-wiped/whatever. And she discovers this huge underground plot lead by the leader of the Illuminati or whatever. xP Have fun with it.

Give me a message if you plan to do this; I'd definitely like to read your script or at the very least, discuss your plot with you :D

RE: Adopt-A-Plot

This. Sounds. AMAZING. The underground plot thing sounds a little iffy, but if I could come up with something realistic-ish, I'd love to do it, because I'm totally a psychological thriller type of gal. <33

RE: Adopt-A-Plot

That sounds AWESOME. But I really don't think I could do it justice..this thread needs more attention, I'm very VERY plotless. Dx

RE: Adopt-A-Plot

Note: Showers are good for thinking. XD

1. A person on a moon colony (could be our moon, could be an entirely different moon, but I was thinking Futurama-ish) has gambled and lost nearly all their credits/money/[insert currency here], and has only enough for a single day's supply of oxygen. Ashamed, said person buys the tanks of oxygen and sets out across the moon's surface to die a cold and lonely death. Before their time is up, however, they meet one of the fabled Fire Pixies (a humanoid like creature that came to Earth to help with technological advancements), who offers them a chance to redeem their life and make something of themself.

2. [Spiders bearing gifts]
Sometime after their eighth birthday, a person wakes up to find their floor crawling with spiders, who all seem to be wearing bows and tags, the larger carrying strange gifts. From then on, the person has always been able to see death- shadowy figures that cling to every other single living soul. The only problem is that the main character is dead, and doesn't know it.

3. In a different universe- called Fase- everything wasn't decided by laws of physics or gods or sparks of life, but a Single Thought Entity (STE), who lives on a planet that closely ressembles seventeenth century France. When the STE- who has taken the form of a young female bourgeois- loses its favourite teddy, apolocalypse is ready to get Fase in a stranglehold. It's up to the house domestics to save the day by scouring the land for the elusive bear.
It either that, or have their heads chopped off by the masters of the house, or worse yet, be engulfed by raging darkness.

~~
Oh yes. It can get much worse than just that... mwahaha...
Please forgive spelling mistakes, as I haven't double checked and it's late... >>;;

RE: Adopt-A-Plot

Grabbing moon colony idea.
MIGHT scrap it if another shred of brilliance hits me (the first being to decide that is an awesome plot), but I love that one right now. n__n

RE: Adopt-A-Plot

ooh, I think I'm going to take the first one... except not spiders, I'm not too big on arachnids. It will give me a chance to throw in some humor, which I definitely need to work on.

RE: Adopt-A-Plot

Someday, your plot does sound amazing.
It sounds a little bit like The Forgotten, but I'd have to think of a better reason for the whole thing happening than the cop out they had. I just might go for it, if I can't think of a plot of my own. I'm desperately in need of a good plot, and this sounds like it would at least be interesting to write.
