RE: So - what are the genres Londoners are writing about?

Yay! I thought I was a lone Londoner, battling the dreaded script-demons without back up. But I was wrong.

Erm...and in answer to your questions...I have no idea.
The options come into the following genres:
*romcom (light on the com, knowing me)
*rom-fantasy (yeah, probably shouldn't, although my characters have an annoying habit of getting bitten by vampires/werewolves/turtle-bees, so you never know)
*something incrediably happy, light and fluffy for children (unlikely because my mind is X rated)

I'm not exactly a Londoner but I do work there - does that count?
I'm considering an airplane disaster movie, a rom com and a dystopian sci-fi type affair. Not quite sure which one I'm going to go for though.

RE: So - what are the genres Londoners are writing about?

Hi all! I'm planning to do two scripts - one 45 minutes/pages long, and the other one 60 minutes/pages long. The 45 minute one can loosely be described as a romance, whereas 60 minute one is more of a psychological thriller...

RE: So - what are the genres Londoners are writing about?

Nice to meet other londoners by the way!

Hmm...i've just heard about it and signed up, so i'm running over ideas in my mind.

My first idea was some kind of historical thing, but then i remembered that would require me actually being able to keep up the pretense of historical knowledge for too long, which got me thinking that i'd write something about just that; people who pretend to be desperately intellectual so that others will think better of them, but are in fact no more intellectual than the others...if that makes sense.

Think i'm going to set it around a group of ex-english lit students who are now more interested in Jilly Cooper than virginia woolf but continue with the pretense of keeping up with their quests for knowledge.

RE: So - what are the genres Londoners are writing about?

I've got two things planned - one TV pilot which is sort of spooky comedy (what it really is is a parody of Most Haunted), and one graphic novel/comic which is pretty much straight fantasy, about life in a sort of Hogwarts-times-a-billion fantasy university.
Just about different enough to keep me interested in both - at least I hope so.

A stage play about love. It's a bit crazy in my head at the moment, but I'm going to refine the scenes and plot (it's not terribly narrative, although it's strongly character-based) before April 1st.

I'm doing comedy again, based around the theme of Muses vs. Inner Editors.
I think one of my MCs is Chris Baty. Oops.

Changed my mind (again!) - it's now a comic play about an evil genius setting up their base in suburban London. I may or may not have Boris/Ken in it.
