Celtx

Does anyone else use Celtx? If you go on celtx.com it's free to download and I'm completely addicted! It formats your script for you and even has pages you can add that analyze your characters, have a shooting schedule, etc. It's fantastic!

RE: Celtx

Only problem I have is it doesn't let you put in page breaks (which I need to separate the acts of my episode script)

RE: Celtx

I used it last year. I intend to make even more use of its bells and whistles this year.

RE: Celtx

I just recently downloaded this and was surprised at how much it did! I want to write something just for the excuse of using it.

RE: Celtx

I'm going to be using Celtx, which is a good thing since I don't know how to format scripts, but hey, it formats them for you, so I don't need to know how to format a script.

RE: Celtx

I've thought about using Celtx, but I've heard both good and bad things about it and it seems a bit bloated. I don't know if my poor little laptop could handle it.

RE: Celtx

Does anyone else find Celtx gets really slow when you have a lot of scenes?
I'm doing some experiments to figure out the best way to co-write, so I'm setting up a bunch of place holder scene headings, and its literally taking 5 to 10 minutes just to insert a scene. I'm using a brand new Macbook with 4gb ram. :P

Not sure if this is a common problem, or I'm doing something wrong.

RE: Celtx

I used celtx last year and was addicted to it as well. Now I plan on using it again, but frankly I'll just be happy if my laptop doesn't die during April, or March. I don't really want to write by hand if I can help it, although I'll probably be doing a little bit by hand - writing down good dialogue and whatnot. Maybe my English professor will be intrigued - she did Nano in the past. Yeah, she surprised me too.

RE: Celtx

I used it last year and I really liked working with it. I thought it was easy to use too, which was good since I'd never written a script before.

LowFuel; That's odd, I never had that problem, even though I used my mother's very slow computer last year. But I don't know how it'll work on my laptop since I haven't downloaded it yet.

RE: Celtx

I'm too dim to figure out how to install the .tar.gz for Linux, so I'm just running it in Wine instead. XD
Last year I wrote my script in a combination of Wordpad, OpenOffice 2 (which crashed like...every five seconds) and in a notebook, so Celtx will be really different for me. ^^;; I'm still trying to figure out if I even want to try and learn Celtx, or just do what I did last year.
