Roll Call! |
So, anyone else in Scotland floating around? Let's show some signs of life, eh guys?
Ok then, hi. I'm Stephen, I'm the ML for Scotland again this year, I'm probably writing a graphic novel script and I live in NE Fife, spending most of my time between Cupar and Dundee. And I'm reeeally hoping this year we se emore activity from this part of the UK than we did last year ;).
Anyone else?

Yup, I'm in too. Name's Stuart and I'm from Stirling. Saw a poster for the event at Forth Valley College in Falkirk, so its my first time in this. I'm going to be writing an adaptation script of one of my favourite video games. I heard in the rules adaptations are ok now.
I know most video game adaptations out there tend to suck but I'm confident I have a good enough story and characters that develop through it. So it should be fun.

I'm Andrew, a Sassenach living in Galloway. Been writing most of my life, but I never seemed to finish anything until fairly recently.
I'm not sure what I'll be writing for the Frenzy, but it may well be a feature-length adaptation of a science fiction short story I wrote recently for a competition - which it won, gratifyingly. So we'll see what happens.

I'm Keiron, I live in Glasgow. Not sure what I'm doing yet, but quite keen on the idea of doing a graphic novel script, I think. What game are you doing, Stuart?

I'm gonna do Devil May Cry. It's gonna be sort of a AU prequel to DMC 3 showing how Dante and Vergil were before the game and how Vergil went all evil and such.

RE: Roll Call! |
Hey everyone! I'm from Edinburgh, ish. I'm a student at Edinburgh uni, second year, from England originally. Never written a script before, so I'm looking forward to the challenge. It's going to be a time travel story, where my characters go back to Edinburgh c. 1000 AD. It's a sort-of LOST/Life on Mars/Doctor Who type thing (well, there are blue boxes in Edinburgh). I'm thinking it'll be a TV show.
Why do these guys always insist that these things happen the month before my exams, though?

RE: Roll Call! |
Hi guys...
I'm Louise and based in Edinburgh. Last year was my first Nano, this will be my first scriptfrenzy. I've been working on my nano novel for the last couple of months. The plan is to finish that this month and I really want to do something else to shake away the cobwebs... so here I am.
I've no idea what I'm going to write yet but I've got time. Any hints for a new lass? :)

I just had a complete change of plan for my script. The other day at uni, I randomly heard someone say: "If you escape the raptors, you will become my wife." I am going to base my film around that, and save the other idea for NaNoWriMo.

RE: Roll Call! |
I'm here! Hey. XD I live in Glasgow, and this my first Script Frenzy. I have never even written a script before, so this is a new frontier. Which is great of course. I'm successful though. I did my first NaNoWriMo in November and won it too! Remember it was my first. ^_^ So I'm proud, since a group of us off of an RPG site did it, and only two succeeded, me being one. My novel then was called 'Aserith'. So for Script Frenzy, I'm doing the sequel, set 500 years afterwards. And for once, I think the sequel just might be a bit better! I've put a bit of thought into it. (I've actually made a poster!)
So yeah, hopefully, I can win this one too. I can't wait. And good luck to all those Scots, it looks like we've got a lot to prove for ourselves! Go Scotland! XD

Oh wow, much more enthusiasm than last year already!
Hmm, they're supposed to be sending me some posters I believe, so hopefully I can find some good places to stick those that'll generate interest. Anybody else have some good suggestions for spreading the word?

How about film societies at different universities? Also, I reckon the Bedlam Theatre and the Filmhouse in Edinburgh might be good places. Don't know about elsewhere in Scotland.
