Are you allowed to adapt video games?

I was checking in the other topic and it said you're allowed to adapt from novels you haven't written. Is it the same if you wanted to adapt a story from a video game?

I'm going to do one based on Devil May Cry. Should be fun.

Someone should adapt "Bioshock."

I would, but I'm already working on something else. *le sigh*

I'm planning on doing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. That game just screams to be made into a movie.

I am taking on the daunting task of writing a HALO screenplay. Yeah, I know there's already one written for the movie (that may never get made XD), but I'm trying my hand at it.

This sounds great !

I wrote a short fan fiction piece on Halo, once. Couldn't imagine doing a screenplay, though : )
