For NaNoWriMo before I've asked when I'd be able to change my account name, and I was told the "off-season" would be the time. So, since the end of November I've been waiting and haven't heard or seen anything about when or where (or even how,) I could do so. Now with the start of Script Frenzy! I'd like to change my name, but I don't... see any option still. Do I have to wait until this is over?

Just curious. This name is two years old and well. Not exactly the most attractive name. I'd like to keep my stats as well on NaNoWriMo and my friends/ etc, so I don't want to make a new one.

Unfortunately we had some database issues with the name changes, so we can't give you an ETA on that. It will most likely be after Screnzy is over at the earliest, but I wouldn't look too closely for it to be then. We've got some other things that are ahead of it on the wishlist. :)

Statistics and the like are wiped every year, only keeping your join date; that's why we have the "years done/won" option on profiles. It doesn't matter what your join date says. I don't even think we have join dates for Screnzy, either!

Does that mean I can't request that a mod change my username so I can use the NaNo chat? I can't get into the chatroom at NaNoWriMo because of the period in my name, so I was going to email someone and ask if it could be changed to just "Luminous", without the period. But if that's not possible, then I won't bother anyone with an email.
