Surrealism

Is anyone else abandoning coherent plot as we know it all together and making a surrealist script? How about silent film scripts in general?

RE: Surrealism

Well my main choice for movie is the one I intended to do last year. It's sort of a cut and past of moments in my life, only slightle more Tarentino. Not about Violence or anything, just choppy, and back and forth through time. All to convey a message about the moments themselves. The whole feel has this complex deep thought feel bordering on the completely abstract. Kind of like Clerks with a Pulp fiction cinematic style.

RE: Surrealism

My only concern about a silent film is that it would be extremely difficult to get 100 pages if there isn't dialogue? Anyone see such a script?

RE: Surrealism

A portion of mine is a very psychedelic silent.

A silent could work if you really go into detail with camera angles, movements, motivation, etc. Also, sprinkling in a fair number of intertitles for narration and dialogue could easily add to the length, especially if the story has a lot of twists and action. Look at 'The Birth of a Nation' (that sucker has to be at least 100 pages) or 'Speedy' for example.
