Adopt-A-Line

I hope someone is going to start stickying these soon, or else we're going to have a forum full of 'Adopt-A-' threads.

Anyways, I'm sure this will come in handy, since so much dialogue is involved with writing scripts.

My rather rubbishy contribution (just to get y'all started) is: "I had a hermit crab once. It was delicious."

RE: Adopt-A-Line

"You could to kill someone by walking into them. All you would need was a pair of cinder block shoes."

Character 1: "That's because you're not wearing pants."
Character 2 (sarcastically): "I know. I'm not wearing pants."
Character 3: "WOAH! Your not wearing pants!?"

RE: Adopt-A-Line

I was hoping someone would start a thread like this! I actually collect random lines. Let's see....

"I am culturally shocked."

"I'd rather repeat myself than repeat myself."

"Her reality check has bounced."

"I feel like my head's going to explode. But not in a BAD way."

"He died laughing, which stops being funny once you're dead."

RE: Adopt-A-Line

"I was told that you were intelligent."
"Yeah? Well, I was told you were worth talking to."

"Have you ever felt the undeniable urge to dig out someone's spleen, feed it to him, and then let your pet kitten castrate him?"

"I do love how you think you're better than me. It's going to be fun defenestrating your ego."

RE: Adopt-A-Line

YAY! Random lines! I love them, even if I might never use them.

I have several written down somewhere, but the only one I remember right now is: "Have I ever told you that I have a monopoly on virility?"

Screnzy 2007: What She Did (14,000 words-- no go)
NaNo 2007: To Love and To Loathe (too few words to even bother)
Screnzy 2008: no idea... well, too many, now I have to choose...

This isn't going to end well, is it? *sighs* I thought not.

RE: Adopt-A-Line

A new one! "I do a pretty fantastic impression of an angler fish, if I do say so myself."

And this bit of dialogue that I think I stole from someone a long time ago but love to death:
"Do you listen to yourself when you speak?"
"I drift in and out."

Screnzy 2007: What She Did (14,000 words-- no go)
NaNo 2007: To Love and To Loathe (too few words to even bother)

Ahhh... i've actually said something very similar to that. In real life. And i happened to be dressed up as an angler fish at the time - black pants, black shirt, black hoodie with the hood pulled up, headband with a little long-necked LED booklight clipped to the headband dangling out in front of me.

Yes, i have the geekiest Halloween costume ideas ever.

RE: Adopt-A-Line

Question: are we allowed to repost our unused lines from the NaNoWriMo threads?

RE: Adopt-A-Line

I don't see why not, so long as the thread isn't flooded with lines off the NaNoWriMo forums ;)
