Welcome back, Seattle Screnzies!

Hey folks, can you believe it's only two weeks until the frenzy? It sort of snuck up on me, (i.e. I was one of the people whose emails got eaten by the server when the first mass-mailing went out, and somehow I hadn't even realized it was going to be in April to begin with.) I have a feeling a lot of people are in the same boat, though.

To those returning victorious (and not so victorious, but still victorious in spirit), welcome back! To those showing up for the first time... welcome... welcome, I guess. I'm JD, aka faits, and I was the Seattle ML last Script Frenzy (and also briefly for nano, and no I still don't know what happened there, except that Renda did a great job as the second ML, and way better than I would have)

Until recently I wasn't sure I was going to do script frenzy again, since script writing isn't really my thing, and I'm getting pretty close to starting in on a second draft of my last nano (waiting for some folks to get back to me with notes) but then I got an idea, and here I am.

Hope you will be too!

RE: Welcome back, Seattle Screnzies!

Hi JD. I'm back too...tho I failed miserably at last year's frenzy and I was SURE that I wasn't going to participate this year - April? Taxes? School in session? But the impulsive and slightly-insane gemini that I am, I have signed up again. I have NO IDEA what I am going to write...but I have 11 days to figure that out.

Congrats on Nano...I haven't gotten the chops to try that just yet. I submitted a children's story to a few agents this month...no bites yet.

Here's to all things literary and not!

RE: Welcome back, Seattle Screnzies!

Thanks, it's my first time here. Looks like I'm going to be adapting my serial novel-in-progress into an audio play. :)

RE: Welcome back, Seattle Screnzies!

Hello!
I did NaNo last year. This is my first Script Frenzy but I've been writing screenplays for a few years.

Woot, y'all!

RE: Welcome back, Seattle Screnzies!

Dennis Jernberg, from the opposite side of the Sound. I did Screnzy last year, but the '06 NaNo novel I tried to adapt self-destructed due to being two novels in one. I was going to adapt my latest novel (currently in EdMo mode, well on its way to a complete second draft by Screnzy time), but then I read in Chris' email that we can do comics scripts this year. Out came Spanner from storage. My Dictel trilogy of NaNo novels -- Bad Company, Black Science, and this year's entry, Points of Authority, are Spanner prequels set in the present. Spanner has been my obsession in one form or another since at least 1992. It'll be great to get it actually written and published! And after Screnzy, NaNoMangO will get me drawing it in June and November.

-waves-

I am back again this year, though not so victoriously. I - um - gave up barely a week in last year...-coughs- Though I've decided that, after winning NaNo this last year, I might as well give it another shot. My friend and I are adapting each other's NaNos. So maybe an incentive to finish this year? Anyway, good luck, everyone!

RE: Welcome back, Seattle Screnzies!

Yeah, I failed miserably last year (still working on that screenplay) but thought I'd give a try again this year. Have a very vague idea right now which doesn't bode well for success. But, hey, failure is good for the soul...

Hi! I'm new. Chad is my name.

Face-first in school right now, but I'd really like rock out some words (maybe some sound effects) with you guys.

I've never really written more than essays, so this will be a big learning experience for me. It'll be nice to have some veterans here to help out.

RE: Welcome back, Seattle Screnzies!

Hey all. Not participating this year, I have way too much to do for school. I thought I would drop by the forums and be supportive though. Good luck to everyone!

RE: Welcome back, Seattle Screnzies!

I just got the email and I'm in!

I've never heard about this and I'm pretty excited about trying my hand at something different.

Thanks for the welcome, JD, and I'll see everybody around this month.
