Bath or Bristol?

This is the first time I've tried ScriptFrenzy; anyone from Bath or Bristol taking part?

RE: Bath or Bristol?

I'm about 20 minutes from Bath. I'm spending most of April there though, 'cause I'm working backstage at the Theatre Royal on His Dark Materials.

RE: Bath or Bristol?

I've got tickets to see 'His Dark Materials' at the Theatre Royal on Sunday 13th April. Hope it's all going well.

RE: Bath or Bristol?

Cool XD It's going quite well. All the puppets are done, and the wardrobe people are there today and tomorrow putting the finishing touches to the costumes. It's all being taken over to the theatre on sunday and then rehearsals start. It's getting kind of exciting now, 'cause all the work from the past six months is coming together. Now we just to hope me and the rest of the crew can work out what we're doing.

RE: Bath or Bristol?

So we have a few Bristolians and people from the west country (which is almost as good!)
Is any one actually using Bristol as a setting for there script?
My script, which has already changed completely three times and is probably unlikely to get done this year, in it's current form is set, partly in current day Bristol, other bits are set in the distant past and far future.
My main reason for doing this? Apart from liking Bristol a lot, it's the only place I know well enough to be able to get the boring every day details of life right. I need the bits set in Bristol to be this way as a contrast to the fantastic nature of the other parts of the story. The bits set in the distant past and far future will have a direct effect on the hero of the story, I'm just not sure yet.
As you might guess, I've not got a lot of the plot figured out yet, but thats the way I like to work!

I live about 20 mins from Bath, but I spend a LOT of time there (no shops here). Bus is bloody expensive though!

RE: Bath or Bristol?

It is, isn't it? I don't even get it directly from where I live, since it only goes through once an hour, and it's still over £3 for a return(when I say I'm under sixteen. Not sure about adult tickets.)

We came to see ‘His Dark Materials’ on 13th (The first performance I think). Both my wife and myself thought it was fantastic and an absolute credit to all involved. We go the Bath theatre quite a lot (on average, I’d guess, every 3 weeks) the performance was considerably better than some of the ‘professional’ productions we’ve seen recently! Huge congratulations to everyone, you should be very proud of your work!!!
