24 Hour Comics All-Stars

As I get ready for next week, I have been thinking a lot about Dave Sims & the 24 Hour Comic stuff he did a while back. Has anyone read:

Would you recommend it for inspirational reading before we start? Thanks, David S

RE: 24 Hour Comics All-Stars

Not exactly. What I _would_ recommend, though, is to check out the other McCloud books if you haven't already. (Understanding Comics, Reinventing Comics, and Making Comics) While I don't consider them required reading, I'd say they definitely fall under suggested reading since, while not the be-all end-all law of comics, he hits so many of the high points that you can't go wrong with at least acknowledging them.

While the 24-hour Comic challenge has a lot in common with SF!, that book looks to be the end result of a breakneck chase. SF!, even when doing comic book or gn scripts, is just the first step. Dream big, but don't put the cart before the horse :)

I'd read it just because it's a great book.
