those that do the whispering

I'm on a creative binge lately and while I do get to take some of the credit I really feel that during nano (and hopefully by the end of this) that some of my material just wrote itself. To me that implies someone whispering in my ear, lending richness and depth that fit so seemlessly in the context of the vauge ideas I start with.

So To honor those that do the whispering I would like to do something at the end of the month of april. If it was a person it might be a hand crafted gift basket with chocolates and many of their personal favorites. But what of muses/angels of inspiration?

Has anybody done something like that before?

Mine really deserve it as they gave me a story to win nano in 9 days with and let me start a profound story that to some degree was a healing experiance (which I swear I will get back to). but now they are excited and backing me up on my five script adventure for april.

At the end of this coming month I am going to be a worn out reck but an insanely pleased one. Then we are not done, novels to get back to, editing to get done, BFSCgoals to complete.

will my body spontaneously combust? Maybe but provided I survive it, it could be something to write about :)

RE: those that do the whispering

This is probably so simple, but what is BFSC?

RE: those that do the whispering

Big fun Scary Challenge over at nanowrimo.org is a sort of community continuing to challenge yourself deal. Where Nano is for the people who say some day I'll write a novel and script frenzy is for those that say someday I'll write a script. Those give you the someday deadline and a group of others to insipe you to do it and a community in which to work, BFSC is a post nano for all those other someday goals you have. They only have to be something big, fun, scary or challenging.

most have the standard learn a languge or the vauge lose weight, but some are actually going for personal challenges and personel growth. Much like my 5 scripts and novel and a half, I decided to write out 24 goals and try to do them all. some are onetime projects and some are do on a regular basis. but ultimately they are things that I've thought about doing but didn't know when I'd try and fit them in. Now I know. Sometime before november.

RE: those that do the whispering

You wish to thank The Whispering Ones, ask yourself, "who did that to me?"
When you know who, you can guess the what.

I would say that John Lennon is one of my whisperers, "So what can I do to show my appreciation?"

I think he'd want me to try to help a random person, so that is what I'll do.

RE: those that do the whispering

I always try to be a good person.

What I need now is a way to acknowledge the spirits of creativity that have journeied with me so far and hopefully will continue to come along with me for a great long time.

A sort of giant tasty chocolate thank you cake to give to the muses themselves. Only food is out because of my illness and inability to digest most foods. And because they are not physical entities there is not much point in persuing that.

I thought about naming them, but that strikes me as being nearly so rude as offering clothing to some of the wee folk, mythologically speaking that's a big no-no.

But having achieved some serious goals with their aide I really must find a way to honor them.

Ah, yes. And I too must thank my own Muse. Sleeping beauty finally came out of her slumber in the last two weeks and started kicking procrastination's butt. For that there is no way that I can ever thank her the way she deserves.

O my Muse, I love you! This chocolate's for you. Now please, oh please help me finish my novels...

RE: those that do the whispering

I wholy give credit for the idea of even trying five scripts let alone fleshing out the basic ideas I started with into rich worlds to my muses. The same as I feel about my Nano novels. There is just something awe inspiring about them and the honor I feel at being partnered with them in the creative act.

I have a view that is much more of a cooperative creation rather then a temp service for a project. They are a constant insperation to me and I hope that I am a good vessel for the ideas and drive to follow through.

I'm thinking that some of the more persistent seeds I started (not the ones that will die in a year or two) for use in growing bonsai might be made as sort of growing tribute garden, alter to them sort of thing. we shall see how my brown thum does with them.
