I made a post in a thread on the comics forum several hours ago - so it's not that it just isn't showing up yet. It was about the sixth post in the thread and there were posts after it. When I linked a friend to it for their opinion they couldn't see it - nor could several other friends - they could all see the first four posts. One of them signed up and suddenly she could see it.

Which was good because it proved I wasn't going mad but bad because forums where you need to be logged in to see non-adult material aggravate me.

So is this a weird glitch or some deliberate policy - if so why?

This probably belongs in the tech support forum.

To my knowledge, there is no limitation on seeing posts if you're not logged in. However, I do know that sorting on the forums is wonky... and sometimes the sort order seems to depend on the login state of the user, the weather forecast in International Falls on the second Tuesday of the month, and other vague things.

Which post was it? That might help in determining what was or is going on.

there's a longish cache on pages for anonymous users. it would have eventually shown up for them.
