RE: Favorite Musicals

The Last Five Years and Parade are two of my favorites. I haven't heard that many though, and I've been to even less...

RE: Favorite Musicals

Haha, I thought it was clear that RENT is the most amazing musical of all time! ^___^ Definitely my favorite. I kind of feel sorry for people around me, being bombarded with such massive amounts of RENTheadedness. Well, at least most of them have seen it now!
Newsies is also a good one. That's my brother's favorite! The Lion King was GREAT, I went to see that for my birthday last year when it came close to my town. Aida's nice too.
But RENT still owns! <3

EDIT: My best friend would personally maim me if I didn't add the movie version of The Producers to my list. XP

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL IS LYK THE BEST MUSICAL IN THE HISTORY OF LYK EVAAAAAARR!!
...no.
I had to perform that for my youth choir, and I just about died. High School Musical also ruined my appreciation for The Sound of Music, because I had to perform that the year before HSM and all it does is bring back painful/traumatizing memories. Although I do still enjoy singing the male part of "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" from time to time.

RE: Favorite Musicals

Phantom! (The STAGE version, NOT the Movie.)
Les Mis
Evita (The STAGE version, NOT the Movie, though the movie was pretty good.)
Fiddler on the Roof
Spamalot!
Life of Brian (Technically not a movie, but hey, it had great songs!)
Pirates of Penzance
Buffy! (I count this as a musical,)
Pippen
Godspell
The Sound of Music
Beauty and the Beast (again, I like the Stage version better than the movie version, but I LOVE the movie.)
Aladin (My niece was in this last month at her middle school. They knocked my socks off.)

That's just the "off the top of my head" list.

RE: Favorite Musicals

Les Mis has gorgeous music. Not to mention one of the best storylines I've ever seen in a musical. I wish I could write like that (music and script) :)

RE: Favorite Musicals

My top five favorite musicals is (not in order)
- Annie
- Wicked
- Les Miserables
- We will rock you
- Singin in the rain (filmversion, but will see the stageversion on the 25th!)
I alsom like Aida, Rent, Fame (stageversion preferred by me), Moulin Rouge
and Disney musical films. I'm generally positive to any musical though, I love it. I wish I could sing, dance or act so I could be part of a musical myself, but till that miracle happens, I'll just make do with writing a musical for Script Frenzy :)
