Fade-In 2008!

Thought I'd start the thread off so we can get a big, collective "huzzah!" to welcome in the second annual Script Frenzy takeover of our lives.

Less than forty minutes to go here in the Isles. Who's excited? Who's terrified? Who's caffeinated? Who's even awake?!

We have an AIM chat room going - though currently I seem to be the only BST-bound chatter. (Invite yourself to 'scriptfrenzy'.) I also set up n IRC channel on the Good Chatting server (irc.goodchatting.com) but it's kind of empty!

But I will not be deterred! I'm determined to celebrate Fade-In for the UK! Join me!

RE: Fade-In 2008!

Hi,

Well I've been writing 3 hours in the UK and have got off to quite a good start with the first "tale" in my comic (graphic novel) script anthology. Maybe another half hour and then I'll slip off to bed quite satisfied...

Alas, no doubt, there'll be more than a couple of brick walls hit along the way, so I should savour this initial surge off the mark!

Good luck, guys 'n' gals!

RE: Fade-In 2008!

Good luck back to you Chris Harvey and to everyone else doing it.

I'm also writing a graphic novel script but as you can see from my name, I'm a girly and it's in the spy genre.

Looking forward to coming here over the next few weeks to chat away.

Have fun,

RE: Fade-In 2008!

I've rattled off the first few pages on the train down to London.

The train back this evening should allow me to get a good head start.

RE: Fade-In 2008!

Going great so far. I'm a little behind on the prep work so I've just written the first page of the script so far to get me going.

I'm off to Berlin on Saturday and I considered getting ahead of my self and leaving the script at home but then I went one better and set part of the script in Berlin. They can make me go on holiday but they can't stop me writing.

Have fun everyone, will check back here often if it gets livelier.

RE: Fade-In 2008!

Hi all, we're off! Yay! I was woken up by a knock on the door this morning, and grumpily staggered downstairs to see who dared wake me so early when I needed my sleep before the long Screnzy-nights set in ... and it was a delivery man with my stuff from The Office of Letters and Light - the Nano poster I wanted last year, the cup I am drinking my coffee from at this very moment, and a T-shirt! Grand! I am now all set for the Frenzy, laptop is set up with Celtx, Dana is fully charged, and I have cleverly placed one notebook in each and every bag I own! Happy madness, everyone!

RE: Fade-In 2008!

Woo! Script Frenzy 2008 has begun! I don't know whether to feel excited or horrified, or an uncomfortable mixture of the two. To ease the pain, I think I'm going to indulge in some script writing software this year. I've heard Celtx is quite good.

Good luck everyone! Not that luck has much to do with this competition. Well, I guess it does... A meteorite falling on your laptop would be quite inconvenient.

Anyway... I'm... err... going to start planning now...

RE: Fade-In 2008!

I managed 8 pages today.

Reading these posts reminds me that I should remember to change my profile clock to BST.

Good luck to everyone.

Matt.
