Orson Scott Card on the Internal Editor

At the planning meeting last week I mentioned an online article by Orson Scott Card in which he contradicts the usual writerly advice that one should shut off one's internal editor. I probably gave the false impression that the point was to edit-as-you-write; in fact, it's more about keeping the story's direction on-track. Here's a link to the article on OSC's website:
