We Shall Overcome!

Earlier today I was sitting at 44 pages, and of those only a handful were written in the last week or so. My momentum could more appropriately be referred to as no-mentum. But today I lashed myself to the keyboard and forced it to come out. 16 pages later I am looking pretty good to finish, and feeling much excitement about the half-dozen different directions my story could reasonably head in.

I imagine that this is what kicking heroin must feel like.

Anyhow, a word to those who, like I was, are beginning to harbor doubts about your ability to make it across the finish line, you can dammit! We all can! We all need a kick in the pants occasionally, so here's your's. Get writing! Send somebody on a crazy/random flashback. Write the postscript that happens 10 years later. Write God's voiceover of the action. Anything! Just write! Whoo-hoo!!!!

RE: We Shall Overcome!

Thanks for the metaphorical kick in the pants. I was originally hoping the 27-hour script-in would motivate me to finish, but it seems to have zapped most of the energy from me. *grins* I am still, however, fully dedicated to finishing on time. I have a few more ideas to get through the middle part of my script, and I already have the end planned out, so this should definitely work.

If anything, I'll simply jump ahead and write the destruction of the wedding and then go back and feel in the less exciting parts.

WE CAN DO THIS! I hope. And now I just broke my two rules for writing: don't use excessive capital letters and don't use exclamation marks. lol

RE: We Shall Overcome!

You are really doing great. 24 hour marathons are REALLY hard.

I believe one of the pep talks or hints that appear on the scriptfrenzy page when it pops up talked about jumping ahead in your story when you get stuck and filling in the missing scenes later. So I think that's a great idea!

They are hard! What makes them even harder, is finding a local place thats central and open to outlets overnight. lol
