Well, whether we've written one page or one hundred, we're closing in on the final hours of the frenzy.

The good news is that no matter what we did, we've concentrated some time on writing -- and that's a victory in itself.

Reflections? Thoughts? Looking toward NaNoWriMo already?

I personally find solace in the words of Steve Martin, who said, "I think I did pretty well, considering I started out with nothing but a bunch of blank paper."

Well, I'm glad to be done. And I'm glad I actually had a real end to this piece, and reached it by the end of 100 pages.

Usually, my NANO novels aren't actaully done by the time I complete NANO.

That said, I'm looking forward to November's noveling, and even next year's Frenzy. I'm even going to keep this year's script, as I think there may be some bits in it I can use elsewhere.

Great job to all who signed on for this year. You did more right there than 90 plus percent of the population. You dared to step out toward your dream.

If you didn't finish Frenzy, that doesn't mean you failed, or fell on your face. It just means your goal, while still in sight, might be some distance ahead of you yet. Don't quit moving toward it. Don't look away. You'll grab it up eventually.

To those who finished Frenzy this year, enjoy that glow.

Talk about a squeaker! I just barely got my not-so-brilliant, but oh, so wordy script formatted as a pdf file and uploaded! At first, a good 45 minutes before the deadline, I used one of the pdf conversion freebies here on SF, but that silly old thing miscounted terribly and said I had a measly 71 pages! The language I unleashed when that anemic and woefully inadequate number popped up on my screen would make sailors blush! Apoplectic would be a good way to describe my reaction. That and "raving lunatic." My screams awoke my sick hubby and daughter and together we figured out how to download the free Adobe Writer software. But we had to do it three times before the computer quit dying on us and finally did what it was designed to do. Just a mere three minutes before the clock struck the witching hour, we converted the script and uploaded it. And hooray! This time the page count is much more robust. Good thing, too, because I was on the verge of flying out to San Fran to put the hurt on some folks if my hard work didn't get counted. I may be granny-age, but I can do some damage when riled enough. And I was mighty riled. Now, I think it is waaayyy past time for an attitude adjustment. Wish I had some Jack Daniels on hand. A little Jose Cuervo or some Skyy or maybe a little of the Captain. I'd settle for a glass of Ripple right now, but I guess caffeine free diet Coke will just have to do. Darn!

Caffeine free diet Coke. Same thing I have around my house. I guess that does make us old. I remember the days when even an Icee had Bacardi in it when I drank it... Hmmm. Those were really good. Maybe I'll celebrate not finishing with one of those.

Major Congrats on the page count and winning the pdf battle!! And I'm sure that those folks in San Fran are heaving a big sigh of relief too...
