What's Happening Next For Your Script? |
As the title implies, what's going to happen nexy for you and your script? I, for one, am going to do some major rewrites, try and find a theatre company to workshop it and then, hopefully, produce it. I have high hopes, of course I still have to save up the money to buy some MIDI equipment to write the musical. After all, what's a musical without music? Oh yeah, just a bunch of poetry! Anyways, those are my plans, what are yours?

RE: What's Happening Next For Your Script? |
I really want to keep up the SF momentum and get the thing finished. It's turned into a two/three-part miniseries and is probably about forty pages off completion, so that's my first priority. I made the mistake (for me) after NaNo of taking a break from my novel and I still haven't gone back to it. I definitely want a finished first draft of this script.
Then I guess I'll re-read, re-write, re-work, play around with it, see if I really do have something work pursuing. Maybe after a few months doing that I'll get some advice about production but I'm not sure. It's a pretty ambitious script and would probably cost a lot of money to produce properly but you never know.
My absolute dream would be the 'Battlestar Galactica' story: a great miniseries and then a pick-up but that's... yeah. Fairytale stuff. But before anything else, I need to finish the damn thing!
Really good luck with yours!

I loved doing this so I want to keep the momentum going. I already know how I want to rewrite the script. I want a really good piece to send out. This is what I've always wanted to do. Now that I know I actually can, time to pursue the dream, one goal at a time. I want to find an online critique and writing group now. Good luck and congrats to you guys.

My partner and I aren't even done writing this full movie script, and yet we've already plotted out the sequel movie. We've also started it. I'm going to finish up this script for our movie, REC'd, this weekend. Then we're going straight into REC'd 2!
Having a writing-partner has been a huge blessing. She's brilliant- funny, and yet very, very serious. She has a beautiful, romantic way with setting a scene. We're on the same wave length. Even if we don't do anything professional with our scripts, it's been a fantastic experience!

For the past couple of days, I'e been showing my script to practically everyone I know and showing off. I showed it to my drama teacher and she got all exited and wanted to know if I wanted to do a staged reading and possibly even perform it for next year! I was totally not expecting that. Now I have a lot of editing to do......

Well, first I've got to finish it. Alltogether, combining the page count from 07 and 08, Sand & Stone is about 144 pages long... and it's STILL not done! It'll probably be another 50 to 100 before it's done (this is a graphic novel, not a play or movie!). Although I have to admit, I'm apprehensive about even ending it at all... I've been writing about these characters and thinking about this story for quite a while, but I can't NOT end a story. Plus, I want to get to the editing and revision stage. Then when I feel like my drawing skills have improved enough to do the story justice, I'll draw it, then start submitting it to agents/publishers.

Momentum, yes, momentum. I'm not done either. I wrote the requisite 100 pages and am feeling very smug about it. But I've got about 60 to go before everything wraps up. So I'm trying to get to the end of my real first draft by the end of May. Then I'd like to be through with the first re-write by mid-July. That would be right before my birthday and would be an absolutely FANTASTIC GIFT for myself. I know I deserve it. Even if I can't get it done, I am further along today in this project than I was when I started back on April 1. And that's also something to be happy about.
