Scriptwriter's Mafia

Back in the summer of 2008, a private jet carrying three top members of the Scriptwriter's Mafia disappeared after an all night rock session somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean. The fates of the three on board were unknown.

But there were always rumors. Transcience was spotted in L.A., Arockr in Paris. Theanab might have been seen in London, or maybe it was Cape Town, or Sydney. No one knew for sure, and many thought the three dead.

Until recently, that is. Last week, a message surfaced in Prague, then Vienna, then New York City. The Scriptwriter's Mafia is back, alive and well.

And they're recruiting.

You can't study the darkness by flooding it with light.

Who doesn't love getting out of the states? Especially now with all the whining about the economy.
So, do you suppose we'll get any new "recruits"?

RE: Scriptwriter's Mafia

Here would be one more recruit for you, if you're ready to accept someone new to your mafia ;) I'll write my very first thriller in April and this is my first year of Frenzy, but I've twice participated (and won) NaNoWriMo.

And if I can become a member of the Scriptwriter's Mafia, it will become international too, as I'm from Finland :D

Welcome jessiina. We'll be glad to have you.

And transcience, hell yeah about getting out of the states. That's one nice thing about a life of crime... it pays even when the economy goes downhill. There's always things that need be done.

Thanks! It's great to be part of the gang.

I bet you've spent interesting life during your "disappearances", so as a newbie I have a lot to learn from you guys. But at least I know how to use a gun... I mean pen (or a computer)! ;)

BTW, I'll add you to my writing buddies.

RE: Scriptwriter's Mafia

Theanab - Haha, you've got that right. I've actually been turning down jobs. I doubt there are many other people in the US doing that.

Jessiina - No need to be nervous about admitting that you know how to use a gun. Everyone here does. Last year we had quite the little massacre when a few cops came to try and bust us. What idiots.

Speaking of last year - I kind of miss writing the comments out like a story. :/

RE: Scriptwriter's Mafia

As I'm said to be evil (just ask my preacher uncles, who add that I'm going to hell) and psycho too, and I just happen to be adapting my insane conspiracy thriller from NaNo '07 (Bad Company, about the military corporation (Blackwater, Halliburton, and Enron all wrapped up in one, well, bad company) that invades America), I think I'm able to pledge myself to the Scriptwriter's Mafia this year.

heh heh heh heh (grins evilly)

Great to see you here, Dennis. Though I find it a bit strange that you followed me to FAWM and now the mafia? That's a bit suspicious. :p

Jessiina - Yeah. It was really fun. I believe we started commenting like that when it started when just about everyone that was going to join had joined.

Welcome Dennis.

transcience, I agree that we should do that... let's get the membership up, get everyone around, then get the story going again. That was mad fun. Maybe when April starts the story starts as well?

RE: Scriptwriter's Mafia

Evening everyone...

I'm here to make my application to the Scriptwriters Mafia. I'm also a possible international candidate. I'm English, so you should probably watch out. That almost certainly makes me the villian in all this... :D

I'm working on a stageplay at the moment as I think crime/thriller/heist is something you just don't see enough of onstage. I want to use live performance to my advantage to scare the crap out of the audience.

Looking forward to all this!

Hiya! I'd like to join, except I'd better not mention this to my dad, 'cause he's a deputy. As in, an officer of the law. Yeah. *awkward silence*

I'm from So.Cal, so not too far away or exotic. What exactly is the Scriptwriter's Mafia? If I don't sound too stupid for asking.

I'll join for sure!

Last year I wrote my script about a daughter who finds out her father left the family because of his involvement with the mafia.....

This year I'm going to write a thriller about a woman seeks revenge after her fiance was murdered.

I got the idea after listening to I hate this part by The Pussycat Dolls lol. Weird where inspiration comes from.

Oh yea would I be considered foreign? I'm from Canada..... we're like the best mafia ppl too. Everyone expects us to be these nice honest people but really we all have these secret ninja skills muahahaha hehe.

RE: Scriptwriter's Mafia

Welcome Knowlege_Master, yukonclarigrl, and wrestlingchick29!

From last year:
As I am bored, I decided to form the Scriptwriters Mafia. If you write in the genre of Crime/Gangster or any other genre, feel free to join. We shall form conspiracies and do other random things.

This is our mission. Come April, we'll step into our roles in the SM, and catalogue the collective adventures like we did last year... Last year, it ended up pretty fun, with lots of shooting and good music and good wine... I've (sorta) got an archive of last year's activities going--when I get it finished, I will post a link to it, and everyone can see the sort of things that we got into!

RE: Scriptwriter's Mafia

Sounds cool! I'm writing an April Fools Day spec for NCIS (which is the best crime show ever, IMHO). I'll post some of the pranks. Also, to add to your randomness, I'm doing a screenplay about a bunch of middle school students, versus the rival middle school in what will be the craziest June EVER!!

Hmmm, if I added one of my MCs from that into the SM, it could get very interesting, very fast. . . Of course, it could also end up blowing something (or multiple somethings) up. But hey, that could be a good thing! :P :)

Welcome, everyone!

Yukonclarigrl - Oklahoma is one of the places I'm from, as well. I prefer to move frequently, though.

Wrestlingchick29 - You're foreign to those of us not from Canada. I believe your the first Canadian here. ;)

Theanab - Thanks for posting that. I can't remember much from last year. Though I think I remember killing some cops. Those were cops, right?

D.N.Lyons - Haha. You might just have to.

Knowledge_Master - Sounds like a cool idea! Hey, blowing stuff up is always a good thing. The more explosions the better.
