Star Trek anyone?

Hello out there,

This year I am writing a Star Trek fanscript. Am I the only one, or are there more Trekkies on the forum?

RE: Star Trek anyone?

Trekkie, yes. Doing Star Trek for Script frenzy? Not so much so. So you are not the only Trekkie out there. I'm not sure how many folk are doing fanscripts. *offers chocolates in the shape of the original Enterprise.

RE: Star Trek anyone?

I love Star Trek but not writing for it for Script Frenzy. I was, however, debating doing a fan script for Babylon 5 if I can make the story work.

NaNoWriMo 2008: The Concordia Killer - failed miserably ScriptFrenzy 2009: Coincidence - won NaNoWriMo2009: Changing Shadows (starting over from scratch....)

RE: Star Trek anyone?

Not Star Trek, but I thought I might spend the month channelling Russell T Davies and give a Doctor Who script a go!!

Doing Doctor Who too, although I'm going for a more Big Finish-y thing. Hooray for audio!

RE: Star Trek anyone?

I hate to say it, but I'm way to chicken to do that. The thought of adding something to something else Roddenberry wrote originally....I shake in my boots. LOL

I am from Mars, therefore a Martian, with relatives on Jupiter. I have a sister that married her friend's brother that lives on Uranus, and he has a brother that lives on Mercury. Needless to say, he is very hot.

RE: Star Trek anyone?

Star Trek??!! OMG, yes! I call it 'Asteroid of Doom' and I should tell you, its a parody. But, it has the entire cast of the original series. To make it adequately bizarre, I will be throwing 'Q' into the mix. I figure 'Q' was around before Next Generation, so it sounds like fair game to me.

The plot is a bit complex. Since Mr. Spock once had his brain stolen (Spock's Brain episode), it was about time for Kirk to join the club. From this starting point, it all gets a little strange.

RE: Star Trek anyone?

I'd be wary about trying to touch the Star Trek universe myself, but if I did I'd probably work on a show based around the Academy. They always seemed to talk about it as an idea they wanted to work on, but never really got around to it. And it seems like a novel enough concept. Either that, or some series based around a non-Federation crew. Not necessarily one of the other races, though. Maybe a group of freight shippers or bounty hunters or something.

At any rate, good luck to anyone who is up for the challenge. The search for Kirk's brain sounds very, very entertaining, to say the least.

RE: Star Trek anyone?

I'm writing a spec script for the show Chuck called Chuck versus the Klingons so there are Trek elements to my script. Yay for a battle of three armies- one Klingon, one Storm Trooper and one Medieval Knights. Batlyths feature prominantly. There is even a bit of Klingon dialouge as well as Klingon karoake.

RE: Star Trek anyone?

MaeveBran: That sounds awesome! I haven't seen Chuck before, but anything with Klingons and Storm Troopers is bound to be awesome. And Klingon karoake? Count me in!

"Life is a journey, explore your options." NaNoWriMo '08 - 'Forsaken Destiny' (Lost) Screnzy '09 - 'Pantheon - Modern Day Rule' - Winner!

RE: Star Trek anyone?

It is way too much fun to write. You really should watch Chuck. As crazy as my plot may sound it isn't out of the realm possibility for the show.=)

RE: Star Trek anyone?

Yes. But could Captain Archer defeat the Tholians so easily, even in a mirror universe?
